Chapter 195 The Poor Vampire is the Real Boss 18

Chapter 195 The Poor Vampire is the Real Boss 18

It was still a bit early before she was captured, Ni Qing thought with some distress. All the vampires around her were unfamiliar faces; it seemed the entire castle had undergone a complete overhaul.

The once majestic prince was now disheveled, delirious, covered in filth, and withered. His once handsome face had aged rapidly, and he clearly did not have much longer to live.

Amin seemed to sense her scrutinizing gaze and glanced at her sideways: "I know you must have a lot of questions right now. If it were me a month ago, I wouldn't have stopped you from leaving, but now that I'm serving His Highness, you may not know that he's been looking for you for a long time."

Ni Qing raised an eyebrow: "The Your Highness you're referring to, is it Brewster?"

The other person was taken aback, clearly not expecting her to so directly use the prince's name. Even back in the small courtyard with the fence, she had addressed him as "Young Prince."

But she quickly realized, "Yes, he'll be very happy to see you."

The girl gave an awkward laugh. As an undercover agent, the male lead should be so happy to see her that he should want to kill her.

In the blink of an eye, the group had returned to the castle. The original fenced courtyard still sat quietly at the foot of the back hill, but there was no sign of any servants.

“His Highness has ordered this place sealed off; no one lives here,” Amin said at the opportune moment.

Brewster wasn't in the castle yet, so Ni Qing was placed in a luxuriously decorated suite. She had never stayed in such a nice room since coming to this world.

She couldn't figure out what they were up to. She felt a little uneasy. She sat in the chair until dawn was approaching before she finally breathed a sigh of relief and climbed wearily into bed to rest.

For several days in a row, Brewster did not return to the castle.

Just as Ni Qing was contemplating whether to make a second attempt and prepare to leave, Amin knocked on her door, her tone even more hesitant than Ni Qing's: "Ni Qing, His Highness wants you to see him."

She had originally thought that His Highness would be happy to hear the news of Ni Qing's return.

The girl slowly stood up, feeling a little nervous at the thought of the unknown dangers that might follow. She pursed her lips and followed Amin through the long corridor.

After passing through the side hall and the magnificent main hall, we finally arrived at the door after a short while.

Amin wisely abandoned Ni Qing and ran away on her own.

The person inside seemed to have anticipated this, and before Ni Qing could knock, they said in a cold voice, "Come in." The girl's outstretched hand paused, then she pressed down on the handle, pushed the door open, and went inside.

It was sunset, and a silver crescent moon quietly climbed from the pale blue sky to the treetops, its holy light spilling onto the gray curtains.

Thus, the dark figure sitting in front of the curtains seemed particularly out of place. Vampires dislike light, so the room was dimly lit. The tall, slender young man sat lazily in the chair, his skin pale, his blood-red eyes lowered, glancing over casually.

His uniform, belonging to the supreme ruler, was clean and spotless. He appeared no different from before, except that his expression seemed even colder.

He was even more cold-blooded and inhuman than the prince at the beginning. His long black eyelashes trembled slightly as he carefully examined the person he hadn't seen in so long.

Even though she was on the defensive, her back remained straight, her black hair was coiled behind her head, and strands of dark hair fell down her fair neck. Her blood-red eyes still looked over with gentle warmth.

“It’s been a long time, Your Highness.” She bowed to Brewster.

The boy didn't move, but his eyes trembled, and an indescribable annoyance suddenly surged into his heart: "Come here."

Well, her attempt to get closer to her ultimately failed.

So she could only slowly shuffle over. Brewster's delicate brows furrowed slightly. Ni Qing was about to observe his expression when she noticed that the person on the chair had disappeared at some point.

Before she could even relax, the boy appeared before her like a ghost. His icy breath filled her nostrils, and she was startled, instinctively wanting to back away.

Suddenly, her wrist was bound. The young man, with silver hair and bloodshot eyes, was more than a head taller than her. At this moment, he slowly and deliberately placed his entire weight on her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

"Humans are clearly more indifferent than vampires..."

Ni Qing tried to pull her wrist back, but it wouldn't budge. Just as she curled her lips to seduce him, the stray hairs on her neck were brushed aside, and sharp teeth pierced her skin.

The familiar tickling sensation always caught the girl off guard, and this time it was even more unexpected. She immediately let out a whimper, like a dying beast, and her legs went weak.

The sensation of blood loss seemed to numb her consciousness; she could only feel her life force draining away. Just when she thought she was about to die, the other person licked their lips and stopped abruptly.

He extended his pale, slender fingers, pinched her chin, and forced her to look directly at him: "Why can you still pretend that nothing happened?"

The tone was too cold, so Ni Qing obediently looked over and accurately caught the deep grievance hidden in the other person's eyes, and was immediately stunned.

Brewster stared at her intently, saying each word clearly, "Why aren't you saying anything? Don't you have anything to say to me? You—"

Before he could finish speaking, an unfamiliar touch suddenly covered his lips. The boy's pupils constricted, and he froze on the spot.

A young girl's voice slowly drifted over: "I'm sorry, Your Highness..."

The kiss was fleeting, like a dragonfly skimming the water. Brewster's expression turned cold, and a chill crept into his eerie, blood-red eyes. "What do you think a kiss can signify?"

Ni Qing felt a momentarily uncertain and reflexively moved away from the boy. After calming herself down slightly, she said calmly, "I have overstepped my bounds. So, Your Highness, did you bring me back here to kill me or to take revenge on me?"

She paused, then said, "Your Highness, do as you see fit."

She seemed to have taken life and death lightly and didn't care about anything anymore.

Bruce stared intently at her, a thin red tinge appearing at the corners of his eyes. Ni Qing seemed to have abandoned even the last shred of kindness she had shown him; now, her gaze towards him was chillingly unfamiliar.

He opened his lips, trying to speak, but his throat felt as if it were being tightly choked, a dense, stabbing pain sweeping through his entire body. He slowly squatted down, hugging his knees, and forced himself to speak through the discomfort: "You should go..."

He instinctively listened for any sounds.

There was no sound for a long time, and just as he was about to relax, he heard light footsteps approaching and then receding into the distance. The heavy door creaked open, and then there was silence inside.

The boy stood frozen in place, took a deep breath, buried his face in his clothes, trying to cover up the faint sobs, hot tears soaking his clothes.

Waves of excruciating pain washed over him, and he felt as if he were about to fall into darkness. Just as he was about to close his eyes, a serious yet incredibly familiar voice came from above him: "What's wrong with you?"
