Chapter 185 Unexpected
Chapter 185 Unexpected
In the crystal image, Dalaran hovers in the air, surrounded by several massive airships with their dark cannons pointing to them as gunships... They could attack Dalaran at any moment!
Lorraine is quite familiar with these gunboats.
Those were the three Undercity gunships hovering above Fenice Wolfsburg... It was these three gunships that repelled the Alliance's surprise attack, dealt with the Scarlet Crusade's underhanded tactics, and advanced Undercity's defenses all the way to Gilneas Greymane's Wall...
That makes sense. Even if Undercity is slow to act, it should have pushed its defensive line to the vicinity of Hillsbrad Foothills by now.
He had taken Ambermill from him; if it weren't for him stopping him, Undercity would probably have already started attacking Dalaran's purple barrier by now.
If Dalaran were still on the ground, whether it were Undercity, the Scarlet Crusade, or the Twilight Cultists who had long been lying in wait...
With their combined efforts from within and without, Dalaran could be taken in three days.
Because the foundation of Ambermill's magic circle had long been rewritten, the purple light barrier that had been impenetrable for over a decade vanished in a single day...
The reason Dalaran took to the air was largely to avoid the Undercity's army. They were bound to have a battle with the Stormpike dwarves of the Alterac Mountains, which could be protracted... The Alliance couldn't allow the dwarves' defensive line to be moved back, as large armies were continuously arriving from the Wetlands to reinforce them.
The Frostwolf Clan of the Horde is even less likely to give up Hammerfall in Arathi Highlands, where the Defiler Legion is vying for mines and lumber mills... Hammerfall is named so because the old Horde chieftain Orgrim passed the great hammer, a symbol of chieftainship, to Thrall there.
Hammerfall also became a sanctuary for the enslaved orcs... one of Undercity's frontline outposts.
This was the result of mutual cover and assistance between the two sides. Tarren Mill was in the hands of Undercity, and Undercity supported the Frostwolf Clan through Tarren Mill.
The orc garrison at Hammerfall and the wyvern air force are subtly supporting the Defiler Legion in Arathi Basin. The Arathi Highlands, once the cradle of humanity, now only have the Alliance's Refuge Valley and the arrogant Stromgarde warlord remaining...
If the Horde's main conflicts weren't concentrated at the two ends of the Eastern Kingdoms continent—the ancient lands of Lordaeron in the north, the Eastern and Western Plaguelands and Silvermoon City, and the Blasted Lands, the Dark Portal, and Stranglethorn Vale in the south...
The Alliance dwarves cannot continue fighting the Frostwolf Clan in Alterac Valley indefinitely.
Of course, Stormwind in the Alliance has its own agenda. With the dwarves at the forefront, the dwarves and gnomes of Ironforge will become inseparable from Stormwind and share the same fate.
Below Elwynn Forest, south of Stormwind, lies the direction from which the Burning Legion invaded. The Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge there are still inhabited by primitive orcs who refuse to join Thrall's Horde...
And then there's Ragnaros, the pit lord, whom the Dark Iron dwarves mistakenly summoned in their quest to expel the Blackrock orcs, seize power, and defeat the Wildhammer clan. 'That Ragnaros' is a terrifying creature; the Dark Iron dwarves, who originally sought an ally, ended up becoming Ragnaros's slaves...
Blackrock Mountain remains a tremendous threat; it is a nail driven into the entire Human Alliance, and a red-hot iron.
The Black Dragonflight remained silent, secretly preparing its own world-destroying plan, intricately linked to the Twilight Church... The Twilight Dragons. The Chromatic Dragons and Void Dragons were all creations of the Old Gods' servants...
In contrast, while the Burning Legion is terrifying, they are an open and blatant invasion.
The servants of the Old Gods, however, are secretly plotting, infiltrating, corrupting, and enslaving many of Azeroth's original inhabitants. They are being driven into battle, and the Black Dragon's schemes are about to be exposed... The crisis within the Alliance is difficult for outsiders to know.
News of King Varian's disappearance had already spread to those who were interested, so even if the Twilight Church was exposed, they were fearless...
The expansion of the new tribes coincided with this very period... When Lorraine saw the three airships, a flicker of joy filled his heart. He wasn't alone; even if Dalaran took to the skies, his mission could still be accomplished...
While others might not even know the name of the Council of Tirisfal, the teacher solemnly told Lorraine that the Council of Tirisfal was the guardian of Azeroth, and that only powerful mages had ever been qualified to join.
For Lorraine, he is not strong enough yet.
He is now an undead Forsaken... a minor necromancer, a necromancer. But that doesn't stop him from being a member of the Council of New Tirisfal, able to be compared to the Guardians—a title that is undoubtedly attractive to all mages.
This task was as important to Lorraine as her teacher's eyes were to her.
His previous efforts were all aimed at becoming a true archmage, and it was his teacher's help that enabled him to become a true mage. However, because of his teacher's existence, only by becoming a truly powerful mage could he possibly find a chance to save both his teacher and himself.
He could only keep this to himself and his teacher...
After all, that existence is beyond imagination! It can't even be mentioned in words; the teacher said even thinking about it isn't enough...
Lorraine shook her head, trying her best not to mention that extraordinary being.
However, Lorraine then noticed that there seemed to be more than three airships in the crystal image. There were four more airships on the other side... with huge golden lion heads reflected in the center of their blue flags.
Oh no, that's an Alliance gunboat!
The golden lion's head and blue banner are the banner of House Wrynn of Stormwind, the banner of the Alliance, and the mark of the Lionheart Dynasty.
The Alliance airships also arrived, one more than the Horde's.
This is bad!
This is really bad. It seems that Lorraine isn't the only one in a difficult situation; Khadgar is also suddenly facing a headache.
"We've already flown to the skies, so why are we still stuck between the Horde and the Alliance? Honestly, you guys have been fighting from the ground to the sky, and you still won't let Dalaran go. If we can't afford to mess with you, can't we at least avoid you? What's the meaning of being caught in a pincer movement?"
Khadgar glared angrily at Aethas & Sunreaver beside him, along with Mordra, Lady Vereesa & Lady Windrunner...
The two high elves and the human female mage also looked embarrassed.
Clearly, they hadn't anticipated this strange situation. Who would have thought the Alliance and the Horde would be waiting for Dalaran in the sky? Dalaran's teleportation array was still being inscribed and charged. Without the support of Rhonin and Lord Krasus, it would take time for Dalaran to achieve long-distance teleportation.
Dalaran desperately wanted to escape the conflict and stay away from the battlefield, but even rising high into the sky didn't help him avoid it...
Only one person laughed, and that was none other than Ansles Ruinvivor, the new Speaker of the Kirin Tor who had always hoped for war!
