Chapter 411 Redemption Island
Chapter 411 Redemption Island
Atonement Isle is located on the coast of Tirisfal Glades, separated from the Gulf of Gilneas by a mountain.
This small island, less than a few kilometers in size, is just one of many small islands along the northern coast. In its early years, it served as a temporary prison for the Allied Navy, used to exile and detain political prisoners.
The so-called Alliance Navy of that time was the naval fleet belonging to the Kingdom of Kul Tiras.
The leader of the Kingdom of Kul Tiras, Jaina's father, and Admiral Daelin & Prodomor of the Alliance Navy, was a loyal ally of the late King Tyrese of Lordaeron. He had long ago betrothed Jaina to Arthas, the former prince of Lordaeron...
Jaina is Arthas's fiancée...
The friendship between Lordaeron and Kul Tiras surpasses the bonds between members of the other seven human kingdoms.
Lordaeron and the Elven Empire of Quel'Thalas ganged up on the trolls, driving them to the coastal mountains of Hinterlands and occupying the richest lands. The Menethil royal family of Lordaeron had good relations with the Trollbane family of Stromgarde, the Greymane family of Gilneas, and the Wrynn family of Stormwind.
In the first battle against the orc invasion, the lands of the Kingdom of Alterac, which had betrayed the human alliance, were divided up. Lordaeron occupied the vast majority of the territory, the largest of which was the Hillsbrad Foothills at the foot of Mount Alterac.
Tarrenmere, Southshore, and large tracts of land on the other side of the lake, including Briel, Andorhal, and Kel'dalon, originally belonged to a family called Barov.
King Tyrese, as the leader of the old human alliance, ruled to strip the Barov family of some of their territory, distributing it to nearby lords and new nobles... The Barov family harbored resentment, and they quickly formed an alliance with Kel'Thuzad, who was then a human archmage.
The plague originated at Scholomance College, the headquarters of the Cult of the Damned... Initially, when someone was found to be infected with the plague, nearby residents would capture the infected and send them to Atonement Island for quarantine.
But soon, the undead plague spread to a extent far beyond what was imagined.
There's no other way but to isolate.
The seeds of plague were transported to various places along with poisonous grains infected with the plague, which came from an unknown source.
After cities like Storsom, with populations of tens of thousands, were infected, Arthas was ordered to find the source of the plague.
Prince Arthas, a paladin who was still wholeheartedly devoted to his country, and Jaina eventually found Kel'Thuzad, who had become a follower of the Lich King Ner'zhul, and killed him, the mastermind behind it all.
However, the plague continued to spread.
As Arthas gradually fell into the double trap set by Kil'jaeden's orders to the Dreadlord and the Lich King, he retrieved the cursed sword Frostmourne from a mysterious cave in the North Pole. Upon returning home, he immediately murdered his father to seize power and began a killing spree.
Wherever his undead scourges went, they left only a trail of plague.
After the fall of Lordaeron, people could only flee in terror. Some even escaped to the wetlands, sailing together to escape the Eastern Kingdoms.
Atonement Island was once forgotten.
......
In the first and second wars between humans and orcs after the opening of the Dark Portal, Lordaeron was undoubtedly the most powerful and prestigious human leader...
Kil'jaeden the Deceiver, the leader of the Alliance and commander of the Burning Legion, was so pleased with his plan that he overlooked some details, such as Ner'zhul's resentment, the loyalty of the Dreadlords, and Dalaran's choice.
Archimonde the Polluter, having served his purpose, became increasingly ambitious, attempting to seize the Well of Eternity and draw upon the blood of the Titans.
He was directly killed by the wisps sent by Cenarius, the god of the forest...
The Burning Legion underestimated the power of death, and seemed to look down on the insignificant mortals of Azeroth... ignoring the five dragonflights and the demigods of the wilderness who inherited the power of the Titan Guardians.
They also completely ignored the mysterious mage organization that maintained the order of Azeroth, the so-called Council of Tirisfal, which was formed in Tirisfal Glades, the birthplace of the Silver Hand, to continue the will of Tyr, the Guardian of Order.
Centuries later, humanity learned magic, which led to the formation of the present-day Kirin Tor in Dalaran.
The chaotic order must be corrected, rebuilt, and maintained.
......
Before the Third War of Warcraft, during the period of the chaotic Scourge and the demonic legions vying for control of Mount Hyjal and the Frozen Throne...
The forces that protect world order are, in fact, weak and broken... The human alliance fighting the invasion is plagued by internal strife, and the Eastern Kingdom is fraught with crisis.
......
Long ago, in order to gain the support and assistance of Dalaran, General Daelin of Kul Tiras sent his daughter Jaina to Dalaran to study magic, apprenticing her to Archmage Anton Danis, the then Lord of Dalaran...
Jaina rejected the advances of Kael'thas Sunstrider, the Prince of Silvermoon City who was already a fire magic instructor, in Dalaran, which made Kael'thas harbor resentment and dislike towards Lordaeron, the then-leader of the Alliance...
Later, when faced with the threat of the undead, the old alliance's mutual support in fighting the trolls or the orcs invading from Outland through the Dark Portal no longer existed. Everyone harbored their own ulterior motives, filled with suspicion and distrust.
When the Scourge and plague spread, the high elf empire of Quel'Thalas chose to isolate itself using a powerful magical barrier, leaving the human city of Stratholme, separated by only a wall, to become a living hell, until Arthas led his army of the dead to invade Silvermoon City and corrupt the Sunwell.
The blood elves reaped what they sowed and were filled with remorse...
Despite having learned from past mistakes, Dalaran and Gilneas still chose to remain closed off back then.
Unfortunately, due to Kel'Thuzad's presence, Dalaran was easily breached. Lord Anton Danis and another Kirin Tor Speaker perished in battle, while the Death Knight Arthas and the Lich Kel'Thuzad seized the Book of Medivh and the Eye of Dalaran, and the Corruptors descended upon the world.
Dalaran was thus destroyed...
The Scourge then stormed the Wall of Thoradin and invaded Arathi Highlands, severely damaging Stromgarde. Blood and fire littered the path, and the undead threatened dwarven territory... Large numbers of human refugees fled with Jaina during that time...
Gilneas may seem to have escaped a disaster, but in reality, it's just that nobody is paying attention to them for the time being.
At that time, Arthas had just received Ner'zhul's summons to return to the Frozen Throne in Northrend... Archimonde, on the other hand, chose to go directly to Mount Hyjal to destroy the Night Elves' World Tree.
......
Jaina knew Thrall, a friendship forged between the leaders of two orc and human refugee groups who fled from the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor around the time of the Battle of Mount Hyjal.
The Three-Eyed Blood Raven Prophet, created by Maddie Culture, provides guidance in the middle...
Medivh also wanted to make amends for some of his mistakes with the help of the Time Dragon.
The biggest mistake was, of course, opening the gate to darkness!
But history is always hard to rewrite. No matter how the Bronze Dragonflight guided and corrected the history of the Old Hillsbrad Foothills within the Caverns of Time, the ending was still the loss of countless lives.
The Lich King ascended the throne, and the North had become a land of death.
The only survivors were either hiding in some treacherous place or on an island at sea.
