Chapter 285 Naming
Chapter 285 Naming
On a warm, sunny afternoon, as lovely as a freshly baked cake, Liu Qicheng and Yang Xuexue, a couple bubbling with happiness, sat on their soft sofa at home, beaming from ear to ear at the names of their two little ones. The boy was named Nianchen, and the girl Nianxi. These names, both poetic and brimming with anticipation for life, were clearly carefully chosen by their parents.
"Honey, don't you think our two little darlings will be like a little sun and a little moon? They'll be so adorable!" Yang Xuexue's eyes sparkled as she held the little blanket in her arms, looking as if she could already see the two little ones running around happily in the world.
Liu Qicheng leaned over and gently poked Xiao Nianchen's cheek, smiling as he said, "Of course! Nianchen and Nianxi will be the joy of our family from now on. But we need to tell our parents this good news as soon as possible."
Upon hearing this, Yang Xuexue immediately perked up, jumping up from the sofa and saying while scrolling through her phone, "Yes, yes, let's call my mom first. She'll be overjoyed." The call connected, and Yang Xuexue's voice rose eight octaves: "Mom! We've chosen names for the babies! Nianchen for the boy, and Nianxi for the girl. What do you think? Aren't they nice?"
On the other end of the phone, Mrs. Yang's laughter almost shattered the phone: "Oh my, they sound so beautiful! I knew my daughter and son-in-law were cultured; the names they chose are truly exceptional. These two names sound so auspicious; my little grandson and granddaughter are sure to have a bright future!"
Yang Xuexue covered her mouth and laughed, her eyes narrowing into two crescent slits: "Mom, don't praise me like that. When I bring the baby back to see you in a couple of days, you'd better prepare a red envelope!"
"Of course, I've been ready for ages! I've been looking forward to your return." Mrs. Yang beamed from ear to ear on the other end of the line.
After hanging up the phone, Yang Xuexue looked at Liu Qicheng with a smug expression: "My mom really likes this name, I wonder what your parents' reaction will be."
Liu Qicheng raised an eyebrow, looking confident: "My parents will definitely like it too. This name is so good, who wouldn't like it!" With that, he picked up his phone and dialed home.
"Dad, this is Qicheng. We've chosen names for the twins, a boy named Nianchen and a girl named Nianxi. What do you think?" Liu Qicheng tried to keep his tone calm, but he couldn't hide the smile on his lips.
On the phone, Liu Xuan was silent for a moment. Just as Liu Qicheng was feeling a little apprehensive, Liu Xuan suddenly burst into laughter: "What great names! Nianchen and Nianxi, they have the beginning and the end of a day. These two kids will definitely be our family's darlings in the future!"
Liu Qicheng breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "Dad, I'm glad you like it. When we go back to see you and Mom in a couple of days, you'd better prepare lots of good food for us."
"Of course! Your mother has been preparing for a long time, just looking forward to seeing her grandchildren." Liu Xuan laughed heartily on the other end of the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Liu Qicheng looked at Yang Xuexue with a smug expression: "See? I told you my parents would like it."
Yang Xuexue rolled her eyes at him: "Alright, alright, you're so smart. But speaking of which, now that we've decided on the name, we still need to get the baby's birth certificate."
"It's easy, I'll take care of it tomorrow," Liu Qicheng assured him, patting his chest.
The next morning, Liu Qicheng rushed to the hospital with all his documents. While waiting in line, he was secretly pleased, thinking that he would soon be able to get Nianchen and Nianxi's birth certificates, and they would be little people with identities.
When it was finally his turn, Liu Qicheng handed over all his documents with a big smile on his face: "Nurse, I'm here to get birth certificates for my twins."
The nurse took the documents, looked down at them, and frowned: "Sir, there seems to be a problem with your documents."
Liu Qicheng's heart skipped a beat, and he hurriedly asked, "What's the problem? I've prepared everything perfectly."
The nurse pointed to a spot on the form: "Look, here's the father's occupation. You wrote 'Super Dad,' which won't do. You need to write a formal occupation."
Liu Qicheng scratched his head and smiled awkwardly: "Nurse, I've been taking care of the kids at home lately, and I really feel like a super dad."
The nurse couldn't help but laugh: "Sir, I understand you, but the birth certificate has to say the official name. Please think about what your occupation is."
Liu Qicheng slapped his forehead: "Oh right, I'm a programmer. Look at my brain, it's all messed up since I became a dad."
After revising the documents and working on it for quite a while, the birth certificates were finally processed. Holding the two small certificates, Liu Qicheng was incredibly excited, as if he were holding priceless treasures.
Back home, Yang Xuexue rushed over, snatched the birth certificate, and looked at it from left to right: "Oh dear, it's finally done! Now Nianchen and Nianxi can officially 'start their jobs'!"
Liu Qicheng hugged her and looked at the two little ones in the cradle, smiling as he said, "Yes, we'll take good care of these two little darlings as they grow up and make them happy."
Yang Xuexue leaned against him, looking happy: "Of course, but the days ahead will definitely be even more lively."
Sure enough, from then on, the house was in an uproar. Nianchen and Nianxi grew up day by day, each more mischievous than the last, either throwing toys everywhere or taking turns crying in the middle of the night. But Liu Qicheng and Yang Xuexue looked at the two little ones with joy in their hearts, feeling that their lives had suddenly become incredibly fulfilling.
One day, Yang Xuexue looked at the toys scattered all over the floor and pretended to be angry, saying, "These two little rascals, if they are naughty like this again, see how I deal with them."
Liu Qicheng smiled and pulled her aside: "Don't be angry, this is life. Think about it, when they grow up, these will all be wonderful memories."
Yang Xuexue rolled her eyes at him, but couldn't help but smile: "You're so good at talking. Fine, I'll forgive them this time because they're so cute."
Life went on in this lively and cheerful way, and Nianchen and Nianxi grew up healthily under the loving care of their parents. Liu Qicheng and Yang Xuexue, in this life full of laughter and noise, also experienced the happiness and responsibility of being parents. They knew that these two little ones were the most precious treasures of their lives, and their story had only just begun.
