Chapter 218: Starting Anew

Ji Meiqing managed to appease Lu Yu, but she was secretly throwing a tantrum.

Seeing that Lu Yu's expression had improved, Ji Meiqing breathed a sigh of relief and turned over to snuggle in his arms.

Lu Yu casually held her in his arms, and the two of them fell asleep contentedly.

Ji Tianzhuo returned to the Ji residence, sitting on a chair, seething with anger. One hand hung limply at his side. Tian Cuiwei came out of her room and heard that he had been injured. Without thinking, she rushed over.

"Are you alright?" She looked him up and down anxiously, afraid that something had happened to him.

"Look at me, am I alright?" Ji Tianzhuo shook his hand, which had lost all feeling, and glared at her angrily.

If it weren't for her terrible idea, I wouldn't have messed up in front of them like that, and I wouldn't have lost so much face.

He was brooding alone, and Tian Cuiwei had no idea what was wrong with him, so she could only ask for help from the few companions who had come back with him.

The last few, rubbing their aches and backs, whispered in pain, "We were all thrown out by that Young Master Lu. We don't know what we did to offend him."

"What?" Tian Cuiwei asked in surprise, frowning as she repeated, "You angered him?"

The others watched her shower with a hint of helplessness, while Ji Tianzhuo, who had been sitting next to her, turned completely pale.

Tian Cuiwei was indeed getting anxious; she hadn't expected that they would actually provoke Lu Yu.

For a moment, she didn't know whether to scold them or advise them. She had originally thought that Ji Tianzhuo had some brains and should know how to act, but he was really too impulsive at this moment. Even she couldn't help but want to flatten him.

"Alright, alright, you can all go now. Have you called a doctor yet? If not, please find one while you're at it." She carefully took Ji Tianzhuo's hand, examined it closely, and then put it back down on him.

Fortunately, he didn't move too hard. He knew his limits; if he had, his finger might have been ruined.

"You seem very nervous. What's wrong? Are you afraid I'll do something to Lu Yu?"

"You've already shown mercy by not touching him." Tian Cuiwei rolled her eyes at him, not wanting to argue with him anymore. She turned and walked towards the door, instructing the people guarding outside to bring him some food before standing next to him again.

"I'll handle the wine recipe. You should get some rest. I'll give you an explanation in a few days."

"You?" He scoffed, as if he had heard something extraordinary, his laughter bordering on maniacal. "What can a woman like you, who doesn't stay home to take care of her husband and children, possibly accomplish?"

“That’s still better than you going out and coming back covered in injuries.” Tian Cuiwei stopped pretending and directly confronted him. “If you continue to act so recklessly, do you think Father will bring your younger brother back to inherit the family business in the future?”

“He…” Ji Tianzhuo couldn’t speak, and didn’t know what to say. He stopped talking and glared at her fiercely.

Tian Cuiwei toned it down a bit, and the two continued arguing, neither willing to give in.

"Madam, the doctor has arrived."

"Let him in." Tian Cuiwei looked away and went to the door to invite the doctor in. With the two of them standing in front of him, Ji Tianzhuo could only obediently extend his hand.

"Thank you for your trouble, doctor." She slowly stood to the side. Ji Tianzhuo stretched out her hand and placed it in front of him. The doctor glanced at it a few times, then held his breath and twisted it, producing a painful sound.

Then I heard Ji Tianzhuo's face contorted in extreme pain. It looked incredibly ferocious.

"Alright." The doctor lowered his hand, then looked at Tian Cuiwei and said slowly, "Young master, you only injured your wrist and have no other ailments. If you have any injuries, I can examine them as well."

Tian Cuiwei glanced at him, then smiled and nodded in agreement with the doctor. Ji Tianzhuo, watching Tian Cuiwei's expression, couldn't help but scoff disdainfully.

The latter ignored him and took out several silver ingots from his belt, placing them in front of him. "This is your reward, please accept it."

The doctor simply scanned the patient into his own box, and after the consultation, the patient was immediately sent out.

After a while, he regained some feeling in his hand. Ji Tianzhuo got up from the chair and slowly walked forward. He was in a bad mood today and felt like drinking.

Tian Cuiwei got anxious and called out to him directly.

The latter turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression. "Is there anything else?"

"where are you going?"

"Go for a drink." He paused, then turned around and coldly warned, "Don't think you're a human being just because you can use your brain. I'm still the young master of this family, and don't forget your place—a concubine who isn't even a wife."

Tian Cuiwei's face turned pale instantly, as if it had been painted white. The hollow thumping in her heart made her wonder if this was real or an illusion.

Ji Tianzhuo had already gone out, walking ahead with a few silver pastries in his hand. When he saw the lights of the flower street, it caught his attention. He stepped in without the slightest hesitation.

The old women inside all recognized him, and when they saw him come in, they immediately ran over to greet him warmly.

"Young Master Ji is here. Will Die'er and the others still be serving you today?"

"Any new stuff?" He glanced at the person next to him, somewhat displeased. The people here all looked pretty much the same, and there wasn't much fun to be had; it was truly boring.

The old woman was taken aback for a moment, then smiled knowingly and said, "So you wanted to see something new. Perfect, I bought a few today. Would you like to go and take a look together?"

"Okay." He took a big gulp of wine, swallowed it, and his gaze became even more unfocused.

The old woman helped him outside, smiling and introducing him to the others as she spoke. Ji Tianzhuo was only focused on drinking his wine, completely oblivious to everything else.

The new goods looked quite good. Ji Tianzhuo squatted down, took a sip of wine, and looked at her drunkenly. The old woman pushed the girl into his arms and said with a fawning smile, "This child has just arrived. She has a fiery temper and is not very sensible."

"It's alright, it's not a big deal if she's immature." He smiled and put his arm around the girl's shoulder, putting all his weight on her. The girl was having some difficulty carrying him.

The old nanny beside him seemed oblivious to what was happening and sternly warned, "Serve this master well. If anything happens, neither of us can bear the responsibility!"

Although she didn't say a word, the stubbornness in her eyes was something no one wanted to see. The old woman was no exception; she pushed the person towards her and left.
