Chapter 24 Goddess Ni Yue
Chapter 24 Goddess Ni Yue
“You are all priests, and I have never heard the Father God teach you to be gods in this way.” Ni Yue walked through the crowd and stood next to Yin Fei, smiling apologetically. “Little dragon, welcome to the divine race.”
Little dragon demon...
Little dragon...
Did she recognize him?
Ji Cang: You have such a vivid imagination; you can even make this connection.
The woman's eyes curved into a smile. Amidst the malice of the crowd, her kindness was so warm that Yin Fei was speechless for a long time. He clenched his fist, his hoarse voice slightly flustered, "Thank you."
"You're welcome. I'll take you to your divine palace."
Along the way, Yin Fei silently followed Ni Yue, with two transformed demon beasts following behind him. The two demon beasts exchanged a glance and both shook their heads at the boy in front who was staring at her back.
Suddenly, Ni Yue turned around and looked at him. "Little dragon, my name is Ni Yue. What's your name?"
"Huh?" Yin Fei reacted a beat too slow and couldn't stop himself from rushing into Ni Yue's arms. Ni Yue steadily reached out and supported him. "Little dragon, what are you thinking? Be careful when you walk."
Yin Fei blushed and didn't dare to look at her, whispering, "My name is Yin Fei."
"Haha," the woman covered her mouth and chuckled, "Little Divine Dragon's name is so lovely. It reminds me of a little dragon I saved before. Let's hurry, your divine palace is just ahead."
As the warmth of her arm receded, Yinfei covered the spot where Niyue had just touched her with both hands, hiding the warmth of that moment like a child who had just eaten candy.
Ji Cang: ...
After passing rows of empty shrines, Ni Yue pushed open the door to the outermost one. Its exterior was the same white and gold color as the other shrines, but the gate of this shrine was more magnificent, and it also had two floors.
"Come in, this will be your home from now on."
Yin Fei stared blankly for a while before she remembered to bow and say, "Thank you for guiding us, Goddess."
Ni Yue smiled, stepped over the threshold, went inside, and looked back at him. "Little Divine Dragon, I'd like to be your friend. If you're willing, you can call me Sister Ni Yue from now on."
“Your Highness, this is inappropriate!” Yin Fei quickly waved her hand. “Your status is noble, while I am merely…”
He lowered his head, not daring to look at Ni Yue, while Ji Cang inside him wore an expression of utter disappointment.
You idiot! You like her but you're still so coy. With your demon race identity, you can't get anywhere in the god race. She's willing to let you cling to her, but you refuse.
Ni Yue walked into the house. There were only two armchairs and a high table in the front hall. She raised her hand to wipe the dust off the chairs and pulled Yin Fei, who was standing aside looking lost, to sit down on one of the chairs.
"Father God must be unwell today, which is why he did not bless you. Let me heal your internal injuries first. As for your external injuries, have your servant apply medicine to them every night after you wash up."
Yin Fei looked up at her, a cold porcelain bottle being placed in his arms. The woman gently raised her hand and touched his brow, warmth filling his entire body. He felt the raging lightning power within him being soothed and slowly transformed into spiritual energy that flowed into his dantian.
"Okay, remember to apply it..."
Before he could finish speaking, a commotion suddenly broke out outside.
"Hey, who are you? This is our divine palace! What right do you have to barge in!"
"Get out of my way! I'm looking for the Goddess! Your master is shameless! I'm betrothed to the Goddess. If he does anything to Ni Yue, I'll skin that dragon alive!"
Upon hearing this, Yin Fei reflexively stood up and moved to the side, while Ni Yue's hand remained suspended in mid-air for a long while before being withdrawn.
A flash of displeasure crossed her eyes. Looking at Yin Fei, who was slightly agitated, she sighed and said, "I'll go out and take a look."
Yin Fei lowered her head, looking at her slightly trembling hands. She... was already engaged...
What about all his efforts over the past few centuries?
Ji Cang gave a cold laugh: That's a joke.
But Yinfei certainly couldn't hear him. He loosened his clenched fist and turned to walk outside.
Even though the goddess is already married, she is still his benefactor. If this man treats her badly, Yin Fei will risk his life to protect his goddess sister!
As soon as Yin Fei stepped outside, she saw Ni Yue with a cold face. Standing in front of her was a man dressed in a light blue robe. He was not particularly handsome, and his eyes were tiny. The light blue robe made his skin look even darker.
"Ranzhi, is it the manners your father taught you that allow you to make such a scene in front of other temples?"
Ran Zhi waved his hand, trying to approach Ni Yue, when he suddenly caught sight of Yin Fei coming out. He immediately flew into a rage, "Did this kid give you some kind of bewitching potion! I was just absent today, and someone has already hooked up with you so quickly, huh? I'll kill this brat!"
As he spoke, a ferocious water dragon materialized behind him, and before anyone could react, the water dragon had already coiled around Silver Door.
Ni Yue scoffed and raised her hand to crush the water dragon from a distance, but not a single drop of water splashed onto Yin Fei.
"Alright! I only treat this little dragon as a younger brother. Didn't you need to talk to me? Come with me."
Ni Yue flicked her sleeves and walked out, glancing back at the silver door as she reached the threshold.
"Hmph!" Ran Zhi glared at Yin Fei. "Remember this, I am Ran Zhi, the son of the Water God. You can't beat me. Even my human followers could drown you, a lowly demon, with a single spit from each of them!"
After the two left, Yin Fei stood there for a while before he came to his senses. He gave a self-deprecating smile and looked at the two servants, "Big Bear, Lin Lu, we're going in."
"Yes."
……
In the middle of the night, the group of people who had been busy all afternoon finally finished tidying up the house sat in the yard.
An unnamed tree stood in the courtyard, its leaves remaining evergreen even in the uninhabited shrine. Silver Door sat on a branch, while Big Bear and Frosty Deer leaned against it, gazing at the moon.
Big Bear looked up and said, "Boss Jiao, is this the life you want? You've always loved looking at the moon. You said the gods are closest to the moon, but it looks no different to me than what we see in Thunder Mountain."
Linlu nudged Da Xiong's arm and glared at him warningly, "Boss Jiao, Da Xiong doesn't think before he speaks. I noticed today that the goddess doesn't seem to like that person. Maybe you still have a chance!"
Yin Fei smiled and said, "It's alright. I should have thought of this earlier. I'm already satisfied to be able to see him again. As for the rest, let nature take its course."
Upon hearing this, Da Xiong became displeased. "Boss Jiao, if you ask me, it would have been so much better if you had married the Demon King's daughter. With your talent, you could have stayed in the demon race and served the Demon King, making you second only to him. Why did you have to come to this godforsaken place and put up with these arrogant guys?"
Linlu said, "Boss Jiao, we didn't mean anything by it, it's just..."
Yin Fei swung his legs, and when he heard that there was suddenly no sound below, he looked down and found that the two of them had fallen asleep at some point.
"Thank you for your hard work." Yin Fei's voice pierced through the thin mist, turning into a sigh and disappearing into the vanishing moon.
For some reason, he also felt tired. He wanted to hold on until he went back to his room to sleep, but his eyelids became heavy and he collapsed.
The stillness of time stretched out like a deathly silence among the three of them. Suddenly, Yin Fei opened his eyes, his gaze clear and bright.
