Conan was practically drooling with envy after chapter 91.
Meanwhile, Conan and Ai Haibara, who should have been in school, both asked their teacher for a day off yesterday, their purpose being to observe Ryuzawa.
Conan remembers that when he first met Ryuzawa, Ryuzawa said that he was a student, but until now Conan has never seen Ryuzawa wearing a school uniform to attend any school - although the possibility that Ryuzawa dropped out of school cannot be ruled out.
Inside a restaurant, Conan and Ai Haibara sat at a table near the glass, glancing occasionally at the arcade across the street.
"Kudo, how can you be so sure he'll come here so early in the morning?" Ai Haibara asked in a low voice.
“I noticed before that Longze always has game coins in his pockets, and he doesn’t seem to go to school, so he must frequent this place regularly…”
Halfway through his sentence, Conan suddenly paused, and just as Ai Haibara turned her head in confusion, Conan's face lit up with joy: "He really came!"
Upon hearing this, Ai Haibara looked in that direction, only to see that familiar yet chilling figure already entering the arcade.
The two fake children quickly followed, and the glass door of the arcade opened automatically. They then saw Longze slap several large bills on the counter, and the arcade owner, with a fawning expression, led him to the innermost machines.
In this country, while arcades allow minors to enter, there are regulations regarding playtime. Bribery like Longze's is common in such places—often among underage school dropouts and loiterers.
The arcade was crowded, mostly with young and middle-aged people. To keep Ryuzawa from disappearing from his sight, Conan bought some tokens and, under the cover of the crowd, began to observe Bai Yexiu in the corner.
The clerk, somewhat puzzled, accepted some banknotes and coins from Conan, wondering if even elementary school students would skip class to play games.
The next few hours were agonizing—Conan glanced wearily at someone tirelessly lurking in the corner.
Longze actually played arcade games all morning! And so far, nothing seems amiss.
Conan turned around, intending to ask Ai Haibara if she had discovered anything, but what he saw was Ai Haibara playing a game with a serious expression.
Just as Conan was about to speak, he saw the boy in his peripheral vision get up and walk towards the door.
"Hurry up and keep up!"
Conan, rarely seeing the boy finally make a move, grabbed Ai Haibara's sleeve and hurriedly followed.
The "little tail" still followed behind.
This was Bai Yexiu's first feeling when he walked down the street.
The "little tail" was already there when he entered the arcade in the morning, and it didn't disappear even after he played video games all morning.
And it's obvious that following him today wasn't a wise choice—because he's on vacation, and even if Conan stared him so intently he could find a hole, Conan wouldn't discover anything.
During his vacation, he temporarily abandoned his identity as a member of the organization; he was now just an ordinary teenager.
Although Bai Yexiu was a little annoyed by being followed during his relaxation time, he chose to ignore the "little tail" behind him.
However, after walking only a few steps down the street, a familiar figure ahead made Bai Yexiu freeze in shock—it was Kuroba Kaito, dressed in a school uniform, who clearly looked like he had sneaked out.
The two paused for a moment, then Kaito stepped forward and engaged in a friendly exchange—Kaito gave Bai Yexiu's head a good pat, like petting a kitten, and then put his arm around Bai Yexiu's shoulder: "I can't believe I ran into you here!"
Bai Yexiu shook off him speechlessly and said sarcastically, "Yeah, if someone hadn't skipped class, I really wouldn't have run into you. If the school finds out you're skipping class again, you'll get a demerit."
Kaito gave an awkward laugh: "I only came out because the school was having such a boring event."
The two, who hadn't seen each other for a long time, chatted enthusiastically in a very cheerful atmosphere.
The fake children following behind them tried to hear what they were saying, but because of the noise of the crowd and the distance, they couldn't hear anything.
I should have planted a listening device on Long Ze beforehand...
Conan clenched his fists in frustration.
The two chatted enthusiastically for a short while when Kaito suddenly lowered his voice and said mysteriously, "How come your disguise has been targeted? Aren't you really going to deal with the little tail?" And it was that kid named Conan who seemed to have some skills.
"Hmph," Bai Yexiu chuckled, "I'm on vacation today, so even if he follows me to bed, he won't get anything out of it."
Seeing that Byakuya didn't take the follower seriously at all, Kaito relaxed and followed Byakuya to a restaurant where they ordered a very lavish lunch and enjoyed it immensely.
Meanwhile, through the restaurant's glass, Conan secretly rubbed his empty stomach and swallowed hard. What he craved most was the lemon pie on the table—his favorite dish, one that looked and smelled delicious!
Conan almost thought that Byakuya was deliberately trying to seduce him.
Ai Haibara silently watched Conan, whose stomach was growling and whose eyes were fixed on her, before finally speaking after a long while: "Kudo, if we really can't hear what they're saying, let's do it another time. Today doesn't seem like a good day."
Conan snapped out of his daze and thought back on the day's events—Ryuzawa really did seem to be just an ordinary boy! Perhaps he shouldn't doubt someone's innocence based solely on his intuition.
Inside the restaurant, Kaito secretly glanced at the two departing children, then looked at Byakuya: "They actually left!"
Bai Yexiu ignored him and continued eating with an unfathomable smile.
