Chapter 494 Beastman Continent (6)
Chapter 494 Beastman Continent (6)
"Hiss!" Wangyou felt something sharp under her foot, which pricked her foot and made her feel uncomfortable.
Out of curiosity, Wangyou looked down and saw several round things covered with sharp spikes on the ground.
"What is this?" Wangyou squatted down, picked up the sphere and examined it. She found a small opening on it. When she opened the opening, there were several round things inside.
"Little sister, how about we grill it?"
"It's okay, let's peel it open and see." Wangyou stretched out her chubby little hand and tried her best to peel off the shell of the little fruit.
"Little sister, this is edible, it's soft." Qianmu had already transformed into a tiger claw and quickly broke it open.
"There are so many on those trees." When Wangyou looked up, she saw many of these spiky round balls, and several trees nearby also had green round bumps growing on them.
"Wangyou, Qianmu, it's getting late. Why don't we go back first and come back tomorrow? It's dangerous outside at night," Huwei said, stepping forward.
"Alright then!" After thinking about it, they agreed, and the two squatted down and quickly put the few on the ground into the basket.
The group of cubs quickly returned to the tribe, and once inside, they dispersed.
"Little sister, they'll definitely run off early tomorrow," Qianmu said, watching the children's disappearing figures.
"Then we'll find someone else, and we won't take them with us anymore."
"Then I'll go cook, little sister, you rest for a while." Qianmu quickly went to get busy.
The next day, when Wangyou and Qianmu woke up, they found that there were far fewer people left in the tribe that day.
The brother and sister exchanged a glance, ate something, picked up their baskets, and headed over there. Sure enough, they saw many people from the tribe who had stayed behind, some in the trees and some on the ground, with their baskets full.
"Brother, let's go!" The two didn't go any further, but left in another direction.
What are the Tiger Clan doing?
"What else can make people so enthusiastic besides food? That stuff is definitely edible, but I don't know who discovered it or how they ate it."
"Who cares how we eat it? Let's go steal some and take it back to show the High Priest."
"Yes, after all, this is still our wolf clan's territory!"
While the tiger tribe members were working hard, several wolf tribe members circled around behind them, grabbed a few baskets, and ran away.
"This is actually wolf territory! Everyone, hurry up, we need to get out of here quickly," said a male orc dressed in black animal skin.
As for chasing after them to take revenge, they had no such idea yet. They had wandered into their territory, and besides, the wolf clan was always united, and with winter approaching, there would be no benefit in fighting.
Wangyou and Qianmu walked and memorized the route. Wangyou even dug up a lot of pungent grass seeds and put them into her space.
"Little sister, this is so spicy, why do you want this?" Qianmu was afraid that Wangyou would want to eat whatever she saw, so if he saw something that Wangyou was interested in, he would quickly try it himself to prevent her from eating it.
"Brother, please don't do that next time. What if you eat something poisonous?"
"I'm just worried you might act impulsively, so I'm trying to help you out first!"
"Brother, I know you're good to me, but you can't be so impulsive in the future."
"Yes, brother, I understand." The two planted the strangely smelled herbs in the space of forgetfulness.
Before they knew it, the two arrived at a lotus pond, but there were hardly any lotus flowers in bloom, as the lotus blooming season had long passed.
"It must be very beautiful here during the hot season."
"Then I'll come with you next year."
"Okay, let's see if there's anything we can eat."
The two searched around, and finally, Wangyou's gaze fell on the lotus pods, each the size of a washbasin, and she reached out her little hands to pluck one.
Wangyou then broke it open with her hands and saw round things inside. They felt a little hard to the touch and had a thin skin on them. Wangyou smelled them and found they weren't poisonous, so she took a bite.
It's slightly hard and a little bitter, but it also has a refreshing fragrance. However, not every one is like that; some are not hard and taste just right.
Then the brother and sister picked lotus pods on the side, but they could only pick a limited number, and they ate quite a few of them.
"Brother, there must be even more inside. How are we going to get in?"
"You can't go in, we haven't learned to swim yet!"
"By the way, I recently learned a new spell, I'll give it a try." Wangyou put down the basket and began to test the spell, making the lotus pods fly over by themselves.
And you know what? It really works! It just can't carry too much at once, but it's much better than two people stretching their arms to pick it.
"I thought of that too." Seeing Wangyou's actions, Qianmu thought of what he had recently learned and started using it in a similar way.
Using their manipulation skills, the two picked a lot of lotus pods, at least those close to them. When they got tired, they would rest for a while and then continue.
All the picked lotus pods were stored in the Forget-Worry Space. With such continuous busy work, the day quickly passed.
"Brother, let's rest here tonight."
"it is good."
Chiki quickly lit a fire, and the two began to roast meat. They also wrapped a few pieces of meat in lotus leaves, along with some hard lotus seeds, and put them on the fire to roast.
The night was beautiful, and tiny, glowing insects seemed to appear out of nowhere, creating a stunning sight.
The two were naturally playful, and upon seeing this, they forgot all about meat and chased after the glowing little insect.
"Brother, there are so many, and they're so beautiful!"
"I'll go catch some." Qianmu picked a lotus leaf, quickly folded it into a funnel shape, and then began to catch the glowing little flying insects.
"Me too!" How could this lively scene be complete without Wangyou? The two siblings chased each other, having a great time.
It wasn't until she felt hungry that she remembered the meat she was grilling, so she quickly threw down her toy and ran back.
Thankfully, the meat that was set up to grill hadn't hung up yet, but the meat in the lotus leaves seemed to be grilled just right.
"Isn't this the kind of grass we dug up before that smelled weird? It actually smells quite nice." Qianmu exclaimed as she parted the lotus leaves.
The two couldn't wait to peel back the lotus leaves and start eating. The taste was indeed good, but it was a bit strange. Qianmu remembered that any ingredient that passed through his sister's hands would taste strange, so he decided that he would do it again tomorrow.
After eating and drinking their fill, the two lost their desire to play around. For safety, they extinguished the fire and then went into the space to rest.
The next day, the two got up as usual, ate breakfast, and continued to use their manipulation skills to pick lotus pods. However, as the area gradually expanded, the two of them had to expend more and more effort.
After resting again, looking at the mountain of lotus pods in the space, Wangyou decided to stop there and see if there was anything else to eat.
After thinking for a moment, Wangyou used her magic on her eyes and saw plump sticks at the bottom of the water, which were segmented. Wangyou wondered if they were edible.
