Chapter 81 My First Compromise in Life
Chapter 81 My First Compromise in Life
The sudden stern voice interrupted the conversation of the others at the table. Ji Xingyi stood up and said to the surprised crowd, "We have a dungeon tonight, let's go back and prepare."
Without waiting for their reply, Ji Xingyi pulled Jiang Lin and headed for the door. He couldn't hear what Liu Yangyang was saying behind him, and he gripped the young man's hand tighter and tighter.
Zhang Hui waited in the lobby, and Ji Xingyi told him to drive home. Under Zhang Hui's dumbfounded gaze, Ji Xingyi carried the person upstairs, closed the door, and locked it.
Ji Xing threw the young man into the bathtub, turned on the cold water and poured it on Jiang Lin's face, yelling at him, "We're going to participate in a dungeon tonight, and you still dare to drink? Do you want to die in there?!"
Ji Xingyi had never lost his temper like this with Jiang Lin before, but after he finished yelling, Chen Jiangqiao's words kept flashing through his mind, and the emotions of regret, anger, and pain shattered him completely. He smashed a glass with his fist, leaving another mess.
This operation completely baffled Jiang Lin. He tried to analyze and understand it through his brain's database, but got a blank result.
This guy is clearly angry, but he looks like he's about to cry.
Even though I was the one who was thrown into the cold water pool, why did this guy look even more miserable than me?
Amidst the gentle patter of water, the two gazed at each other silently.
It was a bit chilly today, so Jiang Lin wore a white sweater. As the water level rose, the sweater became cold and heavy. Before long, she was completely soaked.
Jiang Lin was so cold that she licked her lips, which were red from the alcohol, and slowly got up from the bathtub. She looked at Ji Xingyi and said with a rare hint of grievance in her voice, "Xingyi, I'm so cold."
Ji Xing turned her head away from Jiang Lin's gaze, her nails digging into her palm, and said bitterly, "Jiang Lin, do you really not understand?"
Jiang Lin froze, as if her whole body had crashed. After waiting for a long time without receiving a warm embrace, the confusion in her eyes deepened, transforming for the first time into utter bewilderment.
"Didn't you say you would always believe me?"
Jiang Lin had never felt so cold before. Step by step, she walked from the bathroom to the bedroom.
"Didn't you say you'd always stand by my side?"
Water droplets dripped from the ends of her hair to her shoulder blades, and her rosy skin turned a pale white from the cold water.
"That letter was sent to me by an old friend, but I didn't expect you to be able to decipher it. The explosion had nothing to do with me; I didn't go to the Yuejiang era."
As Jiang Lin spoke, she bent down and picked up the sapphire necklace that Ji Xingyi had thrown on the ground a couple of days ago.
"I didn't lie to you."
"I won't lie to you."
Jiang Lin tilted his head slightly and, under Ji Xingyi's shocked gaze, put the blue gemstone necklace around his neck. His neck was rather slender, and the gemstone necklace fit him surprisingly well. He sat on the bed and looked at Ji Xingyi with teary eyes.
"If you're angry because of this necklace, how about I give myself to you?"
This is the first time in Jiang Lin's life that she has ever compromised.
Their eyes met, and it was another silent exchange of glances.
Jiang Lin pondered for a moment, then raised her hand and took off her white sweater.
The sapphire necklace made the young man seem to glow, and every strand of his hair exuded a fatal allure.
Jiang Lin looked up again, as if asking with her eyes: Is this enough sincerity?
Ji Xingyi finally couldn't hold back anymore, tears welling up in his eyes. He walked up to Jiang Lin, took off his coat, and draped it over Jiang Lin's shoulders with trembling hands.
"I don't need you to do that."
Jiang Lin felt a shiver run through the man's fingertips, and the next second, hot tears fell onto the back of his hand.
More and more, so much so that it felt like it was burning Jiang Lin's heart.
"Then why are you crying?" Jiang Lin was increasingly confused. She had gone to such lengths, so why was the man in front of her still crying?
"Stop talking." Ji Xingyi couldn't hear another word and tried her best to keep her voice steady.
He loved the Jiang Lin who reached out to him in the darkness when he was young, the Jiang Lin who would lie obediently in his arms when he was a teenager, the Jiang Lin who would kiss him in the rose bushes, but not the Jiang Lin who bowed his head to him now.
I don't want you to apologize.
Ji Xingyi's mind was filled with a jumble of noises: the explosions from the Yuejiang era, Chen Jiangqiao's phone call, Shen Wangshu's accusations before his death. His head was throbbing more and more, as if it were about to explode.
Why don't you understand?
"I just hope you can believe me a little."
Even if it's just a little... at least... at least let me know you're safe.
"I don't want to know nothing. More than you not wanting me, I don't want you to get hurt."
Ji Xingyi completely broke down at this moment: "I have nothing, Jiang Lin..."
"You know, you're all I have."
Jiang Lin's confused eyes gradually brightened, and an emotion he had never felt before began to grow deep within his soul—a particularly wondrous feeling for him. His heart pounded rapidly, and his previously muddled mind suddenly cleared.
He finally understood that his lover was truly sensitive and fragile.
But this feeling of being cherished made Jiang Lin feel an unprecedented warmth, and her whole body felt tingly and numb.
Perhaps the solution to the conflict is not as complicated as you imagine.
Jiang Lin couldn't help but lower his head and gently kiss Ji Xingyi's tearful eyes.
"it is good."
Jiang Lin whispered in the man's ear, "You are mine, and I am yours."
Ji Xingyi trembled as she cupped Jiang Lin's face in her hands and kissed the young man's lips forcefully, wanting to convey all her unease, panic, and pain to Jiang Lin.
In the blink of an eye, all barriers vanished.
The two kissed passionately, their breathing becoming increasingly heavy.
The method for achieving mutual understanding has always been just that straightforward and simple.
"Are you cold?" Ji Xingyi pulled the young man into a tight embrace, their skin touching.
Jiang Lin felt the warmth emanating from the man: "It's so warm."
As his blood began to boil, threatening to spiral out of control, Ji Xingyi tried to stand up, but Jiang Lin pulled his arm around her neck and kissed her again: "Are you feeling unwell?"
"Linlin, let go." Ji Xingyi nervously grabbed the flailing little hand: "We still have to participate in a dungeon tonight."
Jiang Lin's gaze froze, and she inexplicably recalled the conversation she had overheard. She almost blurted out, "Are you impotent?"
