Chapter 116 Rescue
Chapter 116 Rescue
Even after he finished speaking, the vector remained standing.
one second.
two seconds.
The makeshift cannon on his right arm fell apart first.
The severed left arm slid off the outside of the right arm and hit the ground.
One by one, the blue-green energy lines broke, and the overflowing light resembled sparks that had finally burned out.
Immediately afterwards, the glowing patterns on her body began to dim.
One after another.
The vector image finally remembered that it was already completely shattered, and the entire machine tipped forward.
Megatron and Optimus Prime moved at the same time.
"Don't touch her!"
The roar of the ambulance shattered the deathly silence of the alleyway.
Megatron's hand froze in mid-air, and Optimus Prime also stopped abruptly.
The ambulance had already rushed to Yinxiang's side, and he knelt down, his first glance fixed on her chest.
Then his face darkened completely.
"The outer layer of the ignition capsule has shattered, the core is exposed, all aircraft retreat!"
It knocked down and pounced to the other side, swiftly sweeping across the severed arm joint and the remaining structure of the right arm's muzzle, the sound without the slightest fluctuation:
"Don't touch the left arm; preserve the complete interface. She just forcibly reassembled it, and the energy circuit still has residual connections."
The mechanical dog had already pounced nearby, emitting a low, urgent mechanical sound, wanting to get closer but not daring to.
The laser bird swooped down from above, its scanning beam sweeping across the vectored body layer by layer.
The sound waves landed on the edge of the broken wall.
He didn't speak; the facial display screen only showed constantly updating data.
[Fire Seed Fluctuation: Low.]
[Core energy supply: Extremely low.]
Over and over again.
The emotion module has been removed, but the scanning frequency has not decreased.
The shock wave approached from the other side, and a single optical mirror rapidly swept across the chest of the vectoring object:
"The fire protection mechanism is still in operation. Core power supply is below 10% of normal levels."
"Shut up!" He knocked her down without even looking up. "Hand over the stabilizer!"
Shockwave did not refute this.
He handed over the stabilizer, half a second faster than usual.
The ambulance driver took it and inserted it directly into the temporary interface: "Outer sealing plate."
Knockdown pushed the sealing plate to his side: "Here."
"Core power supply pipe".
"Right side."
"Don't touch the cracks on the surface of the spark; whoever does will die!"
"I can see!" came the shrill voice. "I'm not blind!"
The two medical officers did not pause at all.
The tools were handed over, the cut was secured, and the ignition chamber was temporarily sealed off. The actions were so swift that no one wanted to say a word.
Megatron took a step forward.
The ambulance suddenly looked up: "I said back up!"
Megatron stopped, his red optical mirror fixed on the shattered spark chamber on the chest of the pull vector.
Optimus Prime also took a half step closer.
He turned around immediately after being knocked down, his voice cold and menacing:
"With heavy mechs like yours, the ground vibrations alone would be enough to cause her to crack again. Get back!"
This statement is more effective than any command.
Megatron's fingers tightened little by little, but he didn't move forward any further.
Optimus Prime slowly lowered his raised hand.
Getting too close could hurt her.
Yin Xiang lay on the ground, the flame on his chest glowing so faintly it seemed it might dissipate at any moment.
The severed arm was separated, and the outer side of the right arm still bore the burn marks from the forced reconstruction.
The ambulance driver gritted his teeth and proceeded with the treatment.
He quickly sealed the severed arm's interface after knocking it down: "She burned through all her reserve energy."
Shockwave Supplement:
"The signs of prolonged high-load operation are obvious. The accumulated pressure on the ignition source exceeded the normal threshold. The final blow consumed the energy required to maintain consciousness."
Finally, she couldn't help but glance at him: "Would you die if you didn't give me the complete conclusion?"
Shockwave: "No."
Knocked down: "Then say less and hand over more things."
The shockwave paused for a moment, then passed on the next set of miniature fixing pins.
Red Spider stood not far away, his lips moved, but he didn't utter any sarcastic remarks.
He glanced at Megatron, then at the nearly lifeless Graviton on the ground, and kept his mouth shut.
After Tianzhen and Haiyi arrived, they immediately blocked off the outer roads.
The roadblock officer didn't ask what had happened. After seeing the scene, he just muttered a curse and took his plane to clear the surrounding route.
Nao Fantian and Jing Tian Lei connected to nearby residual surveillance and cleaned up all suspicious lines one by one.
The man stood beside the rubble, clearing away the obstructing pieces one by one, without saying a word.
Alita secured the perimeter of the area, her voice calm and restrained: "Clear the rescue route. No unrelated machines are allowed to approach."
Arcee stood guard at the alley entrance, her energy blade still in her hand.
She glanced at the spot where Yutiandi had fallen, wanting to deliver another blow.
The barrier was about to step forward and help move a metal plate that was pressing down on the ground.
The ambulance driver didn't even look up: "Don't use brute force!"
The barrier immediately froze.
Feiguoshan tugged at him: "Don't move, listen to the physician."
The jack arrived shortly after, and upon seeing the scene, he offered no comment on the explosion but quickly provided assistance.
The vector heard many sounds.
Distant and indistinct.
The ambulance was cursing, the machine was shouting, and the mechanical dog next to her was making low mechanical noises.
It sounded like someone was calling her name.
Megatron.
It also looks like Optimus Prime.
She couldn't tell the difference.
She wanted to reply with "Don't make a fuss."
But she was too tired.
Not only am I tired today.
From the moment I took the seat of Chief Justice, the fatigue accumulated from drafting laws, holding court hearings, rejecting cases, pilot programs, and endless revisions day after day.
She seemed to be clinging to life by sheer willpower.
Until this moment, that last breath finally burned out.
The ambulance driver lowered his voice and said, "Core power is connected."
Knockout: "Left arm sealed. Interface preserved. She'd better thank me when she wakes up; this job was awful."
The ambulance driver said coldly, "She needs to wake up first."
The knockdown action paused.
There was no opportunity to respond to that.
The shockwave scan results show: "The spark protection mechanism has entered deep maintenance. The awakening time cannot be estimated."
The ambulance driver paused for half a second, then continued: "First, stabilize her, then we'll discuss whether she wakes up or not."
"Mobile pod," he said, knocking down.
Laserbird transmits the deployment marker for the portable medical pod to sound waves.
With a wave of his hand, the data was forwarded without any extra delay.
The robotic dog stood guard beside the gravimetric vector until the ambulance transferred her into the medical bay, at which point it slowly took a half-step back.
Megatron stood still.
He watched as the transparent protective layer of the medical pod descended, and as the guiding vector was fixed inside. The tiny spark of light on her chest was obscured by the temporary protective layer.
His brain kept flashing back to the scene before she left.
He pinned her against the wall.
She said she would never join the Decepticons.
She asked him if he was going to stop her.
He took half a step back, and then she left.
He had never hated himself so clearly for taking that half step back.
But then he realized that if he hadn't backed down then, she would have distanced herself from him in another way.
This realization did nothing to make him feel better.
It only fueled the anger.
What if he chases after him?
What if he hadn't let her leave alone?
What if he had discovered the unread message earlier?
All the "ifs" are useless.
She lay in the medical pod, and almost died.
But he was late.
Optimus Prime stood on the other side, without moving.
He watched as the medical pod was lifted up, with the ambulance and the knocked-down vehicles flanking the faint yet terrifying flicker of the fire.
He is the publicly acknowledged leader of Cybertron.
But tonight, he couldn't even stop her from walking into the night alone.
He respected her desire for peace and quiet.
He did not use his leadership judgment to pressure her.
He didn't follow.
At that moment, all of these were the right choices.
However, it was impossible to pull her out from under the rubble in time.
Jazz walked over to him and whispered, "The ambulance is connected to the core power supply."
Optimus Prime nodded.
"I know."
These three words have come back.
This time, however, even the Jazz didn't have the energy to remind him.
The medical pod has begun to be transferred.
The ambulance drove ahead, the voice cold and firm: "All vehicles, make way. Now."
No one dared to stop them.
Megatron and Optimus Prime followed at the same time.
The ambulance driver turned around and said, "You two, stay three steps away from the medical bay."
Megatron looked at him.
The ambulance driver wasn't intimidated at all: "Don't you understand? Three steps. She can't stand the ground shaking caused by the two of you being so close."
He added from the side, "And the intensity of your current emotions also affects environmental quality."
Megatron did not refute.
Optimus Prime wasn't there either.
The two sides really stopped three steps apart.
The medical pod was transferred to a temporary flight transport platform, with sonic waves, laser birds, and shockwaves simultaneously monitored. The ambulance and the knocked-down vehicle remained beside the pod to continue supplying firepower.
The robotic dog was crouching on the edge of the platform when the ambulance driver yelled at it, "Don't step on the wiring!" and it moved half a step to the side.
As the sky began to lighten, the public screens in the distance regained their morning brightness.
A new day begins on Cybertron.
But next to the medical pod, there was no sign of dawn.
-
Megatron and Optimus Prime stood outside the emergency room door as it closed.
Inside the door, the low-pitched commands—ambulances, knockdowns, shockwaves, and sonic booms—were constantly mingling.
There was no sense of victory outside the door.
Sentinel is dead.
The old monster of the Supreme Council has fallen.
But at this moment, the matter seemed as insignificant as a speck of dust falling into ruins.
Megatron stared at the closed door, the Decepticon emblem on his chest gleaming with dark edges in the cold light.
Optimus Prime stood on the other side, his blue optical mirror remaining completely still.
They were separated by a distance that was neither too close nor too far.
No one spoke; they were all too late.
Inside the door, the fluctuations of the guiding fire were so low that they were almost imperceptible.
But it's still there.
The sound of an ambulance came through the door, low, hoarse, and menacing.
"We managed to save her."
