Chapter 487: Dean & Sudden Message
Chapter 487: Dean & Sudden Message
"Liora, you may have seen him before. This is the Dean of our Helios High School. When I informed him of your state, he rushed here to help. He has been staying with me during this time."
Hearing her words, the middle-aged man smiled and shook his head.
"Haha. Elena, there is no reason to mention these. It is my duty as the Dean to protect my students.", he stated, his gaze drifting towards Liora. It was surprisingly gentle.
"You must be Liora. I’ve heard a lot about you from Elena and the other instructors. Now that I see you, I understand you deserve to be Anna’s niece. Your future is bright!"
"So, how did the assessment go? Did you obtain the qualification to enroll in a first-grade Academy?", he questioned, his eyes filled with anticipation for her response.
The middle-aged man was a Rank 3 Awakener, equivalent to a True Devil.
Though the humans of this world were far more united and there was no such clear hierarchy as that of the Demon World, such a person wouldn’t waste his time talking with a Rank 1 Awakener for no reason.
He did so only because he held high expectations for Liora. As long as she was admitted to a first-grade Academy, he and Helios High School would receive great benefits from the higher-ups.
Even the Nova Terra Planet as a whole would greatly benefit!
Unfortunately, Liora’s silence and lack of immediate response made him disappointed. Still, he hid it and tried to comfort this genius student who must be feeling down.
"It’s okay. Only a few people have the talent to join a first-grade Academy. Being admitted to a second-grade Academy is fine as well."
A faint smile appeared on his face.
But upon seeing Liora’s continuous lack of reaction, his face grew ugly.
"Could it be that you only got admitted to a third-grade university? How is this possible?"
"With your SS-Rank talent—"
"No.", Liora shook her head, interrupting him before he could finish his sentence.
"Dean, the woman responsible for the assessment claimed that I got admitted to a Super-Grade Academy.", she said.
"Huh, that’s fine.", the middle-aged man breathed a sigh of relief.
"A Super-Grade Academy is fine too—"
The Dean froze.
Halfway through that sentence, he seemed to realize something.
He stared at Liora with astonishment, wondering if his ears had heard it wrong. However, upon seeing that Elena on the side was as shocked, if not even more, he knew that he had not.
Had this student been admitted to a Super-Grade Academy?
How could this be?
–
It took quite some time for Liora to convince the Dean and Elena that she was telling the truth and that she had really been admitted to a Super-Grade Academy.
Of course, this was because they knew she had no real reason to lie.
The result of the College Examination would become publicly known in a few days, as the Academies of each student would be announced.
During this time, the students were tasked with selecting their Academy. Those with a first-grade qualification would have to select among the first-grade Academies, etc.
As she returned to the quiet of her home, Liora lay down on the sofa and gently placed her finger on her temple.
Blue lights immediately erupted in her field of vision, coalescing into a figure.
It was a woman with brown hair and amber eyes, wearing a black-and-white maid uniform.
Indifference and coldness filled her gaze, devoid of emotions and any fluctuations that humans and conscious beings would have.
It was Alpha! Or rather, it was Alpha’s imitation.
AI Assistant—the gift that her aunt Anna had given to Liora and the reason why she had been able to so quickly guess the identity of the blue-haired woman.
"My Lord.", the woman resembling Alpha bowed respectfully, going as far as to mimic the way Alpha would act.
Her act would have fooled most people, believing that they were either clones or twin sisters.
Unfortunately...
"Though the appearance and the demeanor are similar, it’s not the same after all.", Liora shook her head.
"Even though I’ve uploaded the related information, it’s impossible for the AI Assistant to fully imitate Alpha’s actions. At most, it can serve as a cheap imitation."
She quickly judged that her experiment had failed. No matter how hard she tried, she was unable to replicate Alpha.
However, she didn’t care too much. This was merely a way for her to pass the time.
It was only a time before the true Alpha awakened. Until then, she could use the AI Assistant in her stead.
Looking at the artificial intelligence before her, Liora’s faint emotional fluctuations upon seeing a "familiar person" ceased.
Recalling the reminder of the blue-haired woman and her conversation with the Dean, her eyes narrowed, and she was about to open her mouth.
But just then, she swallowed her words.
She sensed something. Without any hesitation, she pulled the Virtual Helmet out and placed it on her lap.
Then, remembering the earlier sensation within the capsule, she split her consciousness into two, moving one towards the helmet.
Something strange occurred almost instantly.
Liora found her vision being separated into two. One part remained in the real world and controlled her body, while the other followed her consciousness into the Information World.
At once, she appeared to have been split into two bodies.
Though this decreased her control over her physical body, she wasn’t in the mood to care at the moment. Her eyes landed on the "Message" button that was constantly flickering with a red light at the edge of her vision.
As she focused her mind on it, the scroll quickly unfolded, revealing the incoming message.
...
Sender: Anna Kasperin. Recipient: Liora Augustus.
"Liora, congrats on obtaining a Super-Grade qualification! Your parents would have been really proud to see you reach this point! Unfortunately, I can’t be there to congratulate you in person, nor have I prepared any gifts suitable for the occasion."
