Chapter 498 The Real and the False Master
Chapter 498 The Real and the False Master
Sihai finally managed to turn the bead correctly, breathed a sigh of relief, and then raised her little face to pay the bill for the diners in front of her.
"Uncle, the total is four hundred and thirty-one coins. I've rounded it down to four hundred and thirty coins for you."
As he spoke, he moved the order slip around for the customer to see, and when he put the copper coins into the money box, he glanced at Wen Zaisi.
“My master isn’t sloppy at all,” the child said angrily.
Just then, Lao Lu lifted the curtain and came in.
Although he was wearing the restaurant's uniform indigo winter clothes, the collar and cuffs of the clothes were always a bit loose on him, with some specks of oil stains. His hair was as messy as ever, his face was unshaven, and his whole person exuded a relaxed vibe.
It seemed somewhat out of place in this clean and tidy restaurant.
When Wen Zaisi saw the person in question arrive, and in such a way that could corroborate his words, he immediately felt more confident.
He raised his chin, pointed at Lao Lu, and said to Si Hai, "Look for yourself, isn't this slovenly?"
Si Hai followed his gaze and saw that Lao Lu had just placed the dishes on the table by the door.
Xu Anshu quickly stepped forward and delivered the dishes to the guests' tables.
Noticing the two children's gazes, Lao Lu once again revealed a meaningful smile.
Sihai frowned slightly, just about to speak.
A voice came from the doorway.
"The Four Seas!"
The child immediately looked towards the restaurant entrance, his chubby face instantly lighting up with immense surprise.
He excitedly shouted towards the door, "Master! Master!"
The two calls of "Master" were clear and loud, and were clearly not directed at Lao Lu.
Wen Zaisi was taken aback, and together with Xue Shiyu, Mi Su, and San Chuan, they all turned to look at the door.
As soon as the restaurant opened, a tall and lithe woman walked in. She was dressed in a neat dark blue casual outfit, her hair was tied up high and secured with a simple wooden hairpin. She had clear features and sharp eyes, and her steps were steady and powerful, giving people a sense of decisiveness.
She was also carrying several bulging bundles in her hands.
It was Ah Yue, who happened to be on her day off and had come home.
The "Master" that Si Hai called out was for her!
Wen Zaisi looked at this woman who was clearly not an ordinary woman, and then at Lao Lu, who was still disheveled and down on his luck, and was completely dumbfounded.
The sound of A-Yue's bundle being placed on the counter startled him awake.
Wen Zaisi found it unbelievable. He pointed to the old road leading to the backyard and then to A Yue beside him.
"So he's not your master? She is?"
Sihai popped out from behind the counter like a happy little bird, toddling towards Ayue with his short legs. He hugged her leg, looked up at her with his little face, and said in a voice full of affection, "Master! You're finally back."
San Chuan smiled and stepped forward: "A Yue, you're back just in time. The restaurant has some new dishes these past two days, lots of delicious food."
Ah Yue gave a soft hum.
"Call me 'sister'! I'm older than Yi Yi."
Sanchuan chuckled, "Sister Yue."
Sihai was busy talking to Ayue, so in the end Sanchuan answered Wen Zaisi's question.
"This is A-Yue, a martial arts instructor from Sihai, who works in the military."
Wen Zaisi smiled helplessly upon hearing this.
As the three of them left Wufu Restaurant, the cold winter wind blew, slightly dissipating the heat from the hot pot on their bodies and also clearing Wen Zaisi's head a bit, but the awkward feeling was even stronger.
