Chapter 135: This Chapter Might Be a Bit Much
Zheng Yanyan straddled Zhou Yuwen and leaned in for a kiss, even guiding his hand to touch her.But Zhou Yuwen didn’t seem particularly interested.
After a few moments of kissing, Zheng Yanyan undid two buttons on her sweater, revealing a seductive bra that accentuated her figure.
It looked as though she wanted to give herself to Zhou Yuwen tonight.
But his enthusiasm remained low. After a while, he gently pushed her away.
"Not planning to go back to the dorm tonight?"
Zhou Yuwen pressed Zheng Yanyan down onto the couch. With a slightly flushed face from the long kiss, she reclined there, looking at him with a smoldering gaze.
"I don’t want to leave. Your place is so big. Can I stay over tonight?"
“Hubby, let me sleep here.”
As she said this, Zheng Yanyan slipped her foot, wrapped in a small sock, into Zhou Yuwen's lap.
He glanced at the time. It was already close to eleven. Actually, Zhou Yuwen had sensed she might not be planning to leave when she showed up that evening.
Since he was prepared, he wasn’t surprised. He replied, “Alright, let me tidy up the bedroom. Want to sleep in my room tonight?”
“Um…” Zheng Yanyan was a bit shy. “I’ll do whatever you say…”
Zhou Yuwen told her to go ahead and finish the clams, saying they shouldn’t be left out.
“I’ll go set up the bedroom.”
“Okay!”
Zheng Yanyan was delighted, thrilled to finally spend the night at the large, luxurious flat she’d been dreaming about.
She quickly messaged the girls’ dorm group chat.
“Girls, girls! I’m not coming back tonight! Don’t wait up!”
In the dormitory, the girls were already in bed. They saw the message and reacted differently.
Lu Lin was the first to reply: “You planning to ‘sacrifice yourself’ tonight? (picking nose emoji)”
“Stop it! I’m just staying over because it’s too late to go back, and my boyfriend offered to put me up! (blushing emoji)”
“We’re innocent, I swear! (blushing emoji)”
Zheng Yanyan quickly posted two messages in succession.
Then, Lu Lin messaged her privately: “You shouldn’t have posted that in the group; Su Qing and Shen Yu will see it.”
“I posted it on purpose!”
Zheng Yanyan was excited. To be honest, the thought of spending the night at Zhou Yuwen’s place was making her a little giddy.
“Linlin, you know what I found at Zhou Yuwen’s place?”
“What?”
“A strand of a woman’s hair!”
“And?”
“It’s definitely Su Qing’s hair. The shampoo scent is exactly the same as what she uses! Su Qing always acts like she’s not interested, but I know she’s playing some double game. She says she won’t compete with me, but I can’t trust her! I need to make my claim known!”
“You’re right. I need to show him what I’ve got if I want him to appreciate me.”
“Linlin, you know so much. Tell me, what can I do to make Zhou Yuwen completely captivated?”
“How would I know?”
“Come on, Linlin! I know you know!” Zheng Yanyan sent several cutesy emojis.
Lu Lin avoided the topic and changed the subject: “Su Qing’s shampoo is the same one I use. Why don’t you suspect me?”
“Stop it, Linlin! You’re my bestie! (grinning emojis)”
The truth was, Zheng Yanyan didn’t see Lu Lin as a threat.
Back in the dormitory, Su Qing couldn’t hold back any longer and finally asked, “Zheng Yanyan’s really not coming back tonight?”
Lu Lin, knowing their relationship, responded simply, “Yeah.”
Su Qing’s face was expressionless for a moment before she muttered with a hint of bitterness, “Can’t she show a little self-respect? They haven’t been dating that long. She’ll regret this sooner or later.”
Everyone knew Su Qing was already holding back.
For some reason, since the last time, Su Qing had stopped fighting or demanding to see Zhou Yuwen.
Su Qing now saw her mistakes. Just like Zhou Yuwen said, she shouldn’t have separated from him. The only reason he went to other women was because she had brought it upon herself.
But Zhou Yuwen hadn’t given up on her. He was still willing to send her money and help her through difficulties. He still loved her. Being with other women was only a way of punishing her.
Still, Su Qing couldn’t shake her unease at the thought of Zhou Yuwen and Zheng Yanyan spending the night together.
She couldn’t bear it any longer and sent him a message on WeChat: “Zhou Yuwen, Zheng Yanyan says she’s staying over at your place tonight. Is that true?”
“It’s late, and she doesn’t want to leave. My place is big enough, so it’s fine for her to stay.” Zhou Yuwen was in the bedroom tidying up when he saw her message.
Su Qing finally breathed a sigh of relief but still couldn’t relax completely. “Really? You won’t lie to me, right?”
Zhou Yuwen replied, “I wouldn’t lie.”
Su Qing hesitated before messaging again: “If you must… just wear something. I’ll pretend it didn’t happen.”
Zhou Yuwen was speechless.
“Okay?”
“I’ll think about it.”
"Hubby, aren't you done yet?"
Zhou Yuwen had been in the bedroom for over ten minutes, and Zheng Yanyan had already moved on to chatting with Lu Lin about some “afterwards” talk between couples. After hearing a few of Lu Lin's more risqué jokes, Zheng Yanyan's face turned red, remembering Lu Lin’s advice.
"Zhou Yuwen looks like he's big; you might need to brace yourself."
"How can you tell?"
"Zhou Yuwen’s build is sturdy, with great endurance. How else would I know? Peeked in his pants, maybe?"
"Ha! As if!"
"Anyway, good luck to you."
“I haven’t even decided if I want to go that far yet. I just want my hubby to hold me to sleep, that’s all.”
"Yeah, right."
Despite her words, Zheng Yanyan blushed, recalling everything Lu Lin had said.
After finishing the clams, she got up to find Zhou Yuwen.
At that moment, Zhou Yuwen walked out of the bedroom and asked, "Done eating?"
"Yes! Hubby, why do you have two computers here?"
Across from the main bedroom, Zhou Yuwen had converted the spare bedroom into a gaming room and set up two desktops. Zheng Yanyan noticed this and walked in, wearing her slippers.
Zhou Yuwen explained that he had set it up for gaming.
“Oh, so we can play games together here! Hey, did you smoke recently, hubby?” The faint smell of cigarettes lingered in the room.
Zhou Yuwen opened a window, explaining, "I smoked a few when we broke up; I was in a bad mood."
Zheng Yanyan’s face softened in sympathy. "Why didn’t you reach out to me? I felt awful too. Ask Lu Lin—I nearly cried several times in the dorm."
“Let’s not fight again, okay?” Zheng Yanyan, standing on tiptoes, wrapped her arms around his neck.
Zhou Yuwen replied, “Whether we fight is up to you.”
“I wouldn’t be so jealous if you weren’t ignoring me,” she grumbled.
Zhou Yuwen said, “Alright, let’s forget about it.”
“There’s nothing special here. Let’s head out.”
“Want to play a game, hubby?” Zheng Yanyan seemed unwilling to leave. After all, she didn’t have to return to her dorm tonight!
Staying at her boyfriend’s spacious apartment without having to worry about dorm inspections? She could sleep as late as she wanted—she could stay up, play games, and snack all night if she wanted. Just thinking about it made her excited.
Zhou Yuwen said, “Please, let me be. If you want to game, play on your own.”
“I'm done for tonight, so I’m going to shower. If you’re gaming, you can stay in here. But I need to get some sleep.”
“Aww, hubby, don’t you love me anymore?” Zheng Yanyan pouted as Zhou Yuwen walked away.
Yet, he left anyway.
Now that she thought about it, Lu Lin was really clever.
Whenever Lu Lin came over, she insisted on clearing all traces of herself, like any lingerie that had been torn or game accounts she had used.
One time, Lu Lin even tidied up the desk after an evening spent with Zhou Yuwen.
He told her it wasn’t necessary.
“Even if you and Yanyan break up, there will always be someone else.” Lu Lin had said this while cleaning up.
Zhou Yuwen gazed at her calm face, sometimes finding her unfathomable.
He took a quick shower while Zheng Yanyan logged into a game account, about to start a match.
Zhou Yuwen came back into the room, dressed in a navy-blue pajama set, holding a fresh pink nightgown. “Why not pause the game and take a shower first?”
Zheng Yanyan looked curious. “You actually have women's sleepwear here?”
“I bought it when I was getting my own. Figured you might use it one day.”
“Oh, I see! So, you had it all planned out!” she teased.
“If you don’t want it, then don’t wear it.”
“No way! Who said I don’t want it? I’m going to take a shower and then go snuggle with you.”
Before leaving, she called over her shoulder, “Oh, right, hubby! Help me with the in-game reward draw! I already paid for it!”
Zhou Yuwen rolled his eyes. “You’re so demanding.”
“Oh, come on, help me out!”
So, Zhou Yuwen began combining items in the game for her, and then a message notification popped up from a game friend—Chang Hao.
He exchanged a few words with Chang Hao.
They had told him that Yanyan was there, but Chang Hao persisted, saying, “Oh, really, at your place? (cover face emoji)”
At that moment, Zheng Yanyan emerged from her shower, towel-drying her hair, her pink nightgown matching her pink-dyed hair perfectly. Tall and graceful, she looked beautiful in the silky fabric, which showed off her ankles as she walked.
“Who are you chatting with?” Zheng Yanyan asked as she leaned on Zhou Yuwen.
“Chang Hao,” he replied.
Zheng Yanyan glanced at their conversation history and, noticing that Zhou Yuwen was using her account, suddenly felt uneasy.
After all, Zhou Yuwen had once been jealous over her interactions with Chang Hao, and she didn’t want him to get the wrong idea.
“What’s there to chat about with him?”
“He mentioned your previous game match and asked if you wanted to play another,” Zhou Yuwen replied.
“Oh, I didn’t know. I was playing with Linlin all afternoon. I already deleted him on WeChat, just forgot to remove him in-game. Let me get rid of him now.” Zheng Yanyan didn’t want any misunderstandings.
Zhou Yuwen shrugged, “Doesn’t matter to me. You can have friends.”
“He’s no friend of mine. The guy is two-faced. He even talked trash about you to me once, so I gave him a good scolding!” Zheng Yanyan declared as she perched on Zhou Yuwen’s lap.
With both of them dressed in light pajamas, the thin fabric felt like a mere barrier between them as they were so close.
At that moment, Chang Hao, still waiting for a response, sent another message:
“Really, are you at his place? (cover face emoji)!”
Zhou Yuwen responded, “Yeah, Yanyan’s not actually asleep.”
“Oh?”
“She just finished showering. Want to do a three-player queue?” Zhou Yuwen asked.
“A shower?” Original content can be found at novel⚑fire.net
Chang Hao's initial pang of jealousy dissipated as he read the message.
“Sure.”
“What’s so interesting about gaming with him?” Zheng Yanyan pouted slightly.
Zhou Yuwen replied, “It’s something to do while we wait.”
“Chang Hao is good, you know. Without him, you probably couldn’t keep up with me.”
“Geez, it’s like you think I’m terrible.”
“Come on, you wanted to game, didn’t you?”
Zheng Yanyan pouted, “But I only want to play with you.”
“Doesn’t matter. Let’s play a couple of rounds, then call it a night.”
So, Zheng Yanyan sat at the other computer, and Zhou Yuwen powered it on.
Since being reborn, he’d given up smoking, but his gaming skills had only improved, making it more enjoyable than ever.
“Is it okay if we use voice chat?” Zhou Yuwen asked Chang Hao.
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
So, they connected voice chat.
Choosing heroes, Zhou Yuwen went for a jungle role, Zheng Yanyan picked a marksman, and Chang Hao took top lane.
“Can you hear me?”
“Yep, loud and clear.” Chang Hao had his headphones on, trying to keep his voice down so as not to wake his roommate.
“Hubby, which hero should I pick?”
He hadn’t heard Zheng Yanyan’s voice in three days, but just hearing it again felt bittersweet.
“Play whoever you like,” Zhou Yuwen said.
Chang Hao felt like Zhou Yuwen wasn’t showing her enough respect and whispered that maybe she should pick a support role.
But no one seemed to be listening as Zheng Yanyan cooed, “But I want to be with you!”
“Don’t mess it up, or no bed for you tonight.”
“Please, like I even want to sleep with you.”
While they were waiting for the game to start, a faint sound of smacking lips came through Chang Hao’s headset.
