Chapter 355: Ex-Wife's New Method
Chapter 355: Ex-Wife's New Method
Su Qing lay prone on Zhou Yuwen's body, kissing him.Zhou Yuwen had always been one to never refuse anyone who came to him. Moreover, he had hardly touched any women during the few days since returning home. After sharing a few kisses with Su Qing this time, he actually started to feel somewhat aroused.
His hands were originally caressing Su Qing's slender waist, but during the kiss, they slid down to touch her curvy hips wrapped in jeans. After feeling around for a while and finding it unsatisfied through the fabric, he slipped his hands under the hem of her sweater, his fingers making direct contact with her smooth, slender waist.
"Mmh."
It was winter. Even though the air conditioner was on in the room, Zhou Yuwen's hands were still a little cold. When they touched her skin, Su Qing let out an involuntary gasp, but she quickly got used to it.
Zhou Yuwen traced his fingers all the way up the groove of Su Qing's spine until he reached the clasps of her bra.
Zhou Yuwen could not help but chuckle. "You are still wearing a bra?"
"Obviously!"
After making out with Zhou Yuwen for a while, a rosy flush had already appeared on Su Qing's cheeks. Hearing his words, she immediately shot him a coquettish glare and retorted, "What kind of girls do not wear bras!"
Zhou Yuwen smiled.
He was still lying on the bed.
Meanwhile, Su Qing sat up on top of him, straightening her posture.
Zhou Yuwen wanted to be intimate, so the bra was definitely superfluous now. Su Qing reached under her sweater, unhooked her bra, and tossed it out.
When she looked down at Zhou Yuwen again, there was an added touch of enchanting charm on her face.
Zhou Yuwen simply lay there quietly, watching her.
After tossing the bra aside, Su Qing leaned down again to resume their intimacy.
Turning over, Zhou Yuwen pressed Su Qing firmly against the mattress.
"Ah!" Su Qing cried out softly, though it sounded rather amused.
"You brought this upon yourself," Zhou Yuwen warned. "I did not force you."
Su Qing cradled Zhou Yuwen's face in her hands and pleaded, "Zhou Yuwen, be my boyfriend, please?"
"Look, here you go again. Did we not agree to just live our own beautiful lives? Is it not better this way?"
"No, it is not."
Su Qing pouted and complained, "I already told my mom that we are boyfriend and girlfriend. I even told her that you only treat me well. If my mom finds out the truth, she might forbid me from seeing you."
"How is that possible? No matter how close you are with your mom, are you as close as we are? Right, baby?" Zhou Yuwen teased, hooking a finger under Su Qing's chin.
"Then promise me," Su Qing urged. "It will just be in name anyway."
"That is still different."
Zhou Yuwen sat up from Su Qing's body and leaned back against the headboard.
Su Qing shifted her body upward, resting against Zhou Yuwen as she asked, "Then tell me, what is the difference?"
Zhou Yuwen explained that psychologically, he just could not get past it.
"I feel like I am doing perfectly fine living as one person right now. If we suddenly become a couple, knowing my personality, I would definitely start revolving everything around you again. How uncomfortable would that be for me?"
"Oh come on, that is how it always was before."
"Before was before, and now is now. It is precisely because it happened before that I do not want to repeat it," Zhou Yuwen stated honestly.
Su Qing was visibly a little unhappy, her lips jutting out in a pout.
Zhou Yuwen pulled Su Qing into his arms, comforting her by saying that things were essentially the same between them now. He was not going to abandon her, and was not their current life better anyway?
"Look, why do you not just have your mom quit her job? You have always said you do not want your mom to be a teacher. Have her resign, and we will give her twenty thousand yuan a month for living expenses so she can live a casual, carefree life. Would that not be nice?"
Su Qing curled her lip and muttered, "But Zheng Yanyan got to be your girlfriend. I want to be one too."
Zhou Yuwen pointed out that while Yanyan had been his girlfriend, had they not broken up now?
"Even if you broke up, you two are still in contact!"
This was a topic they could not easily bypass.
Zhou Yuwen had previously told Su Qing that Zheng Yanyan was able to be his girlfriend because she was open-minded and uninhibited.
Besides, it was not as if Su Qing had not seen it for herself that time at Zhou Yuwen's house.
Hearing this, Su Qing twisted her delicate lips.
She put on a pitiful expression, feeling wronged.
"Alright, baby, stop overthinking things, okay?"
To coax Su Qing, Zhou Yuwen specifically planted a kiss on her small lips.
However, Su Qing remained completely silent at this moment, lost in her own thoughts.
After a long pause, Su Qing finally asked, "If I become just like Zheng Yanyan, will you let me be your girlfriend?"
Su Qing spoke with absolute seriousness.
From the look in her eyes, Zhou Yuwen seemed to understand her implication, but he was not entirely sure. He chuckled, a smile that seemed to say, 'You cannot be serious, right?'
Zhou Yuwen dodged, "What do you mean?"
"Ugh, I am asking you! If I act like Zheng Yanyan, will you let me be your girlfriend?" Su Qing pressed.
"..."
Zhou Yuwen stammered, "No, Little Su, do not scare me like this. I begged you for so long in the past, and you never agreed."
Before he could finish his sentence, Su Qing forced a deep kiss onto Zhou Yuwen's lips.
Zhou Yuwen was stunned for a brief moment, but he quickly settled in and comfortably began to enjoy it.
Then, amid his enjoyment, his hands began to wander naughtily once again.
Since Su Qing's bra had already been discarded, Zhou Yuwen's hands were free to roam and do as they pleased underneath.
"Mmh..."
Caressed by Zhou Yuwen's hands, Su Qing's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of crimson.
She seemed to have made a firm decision, slowly sliding her body lower while continuing to kiss him.
Zhou Yuwen looked down at Su Qing, who was already starting to unbuckle his belt, and remarked, "Little Su, you had better think this through. Did you not say you would absolutely never bow your head?"
Su Qing felt that Zhou Yuwen was just mocking her with those words.
'What does he mean by that?'
'It is not like I want to bow my head either, but the problem is, would you allow otherwise?'
'Hmph!'
Zhou Yuwen indeed broke into a grin.
To be honest, Zhou Yuwen was actually feeling a little nervous.
Especially when looking at the resentful little expression on his ex-wife's face.
Just as the two of them were about to embark on this sacred chapter...
"Bang!"
There was the sudden sound of someone urgently trying to open the door from the outside.
Fortunately, Su Qing had locked the door when she came in, so it did not open.
But even so, the sudden noise thoroughly startled both of them.
Su Qing hurriedly shrank back into Zhou Yuwen's embrace.
Zhou Yuwen was also incredibly annoyed, snapping displeasedly, "Who is it?!"
"It is me! Hey, what are you guys doing in there!?" It was Lu Wanting's voice.
"What does it matter to you what we are doing?" Zhou Yuwen shot back, heavily irritated.
Su Qing quickly clamped a hand over Zhou Yuwen's mouth.
Zhou Yuwen pulled her hand away, his heart filled with frustration.
Su Qing, however, found Zhou Yuwen's current demeanor rather amusing and could not help but giggle softly.
"Uh, is it convenient to open the door? I need to talk to you guys about something," Lu Wanting called out.
"It is not convenient."
Zhou Yuwen's voice carried clear displeasure. He had wanted to continue, but evidently, Su Qing had lost the mood for it. It had taken an immense amount of courage and determination for her to initiate what she just did. Now that they had been interrupted, refusing to open the door would definitely make Lu Wanting suspect what they were up to inside.
If word of this reached Zhou Yuwen's parents...
...how could she ever show her face again?
So, hearing Zhou Yuwen claim it was inconvenient, Su Qing anxiously shouted back, "It is convenient! Give me just a second!"
Saying that, Su Qing scrambled up, intending to go open the door.
Zhou Yuwen felt utterly helpless. He sighed and adjusted his rumpled clothes.
The door was pulled open just a crack, and Su Qing poked her small head out.
When Lu Wanting first knocked on the door, she had not actually thought much of it. Her intentions were simple; she simply felt bored staying in her room. Being in an unfamiliar place with no acquaintances, she figured she would come find Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing for some chatting. It was only when Zhou Yuwen declared it inconvenient that Lu Wanting realized the young couple might be doing something private inside the room.
But it was too late for her to walk away now.
She could only offer an embarrassed smile to Su Qing and ask, "I am not disturbing you two, am I?"
Su Qing replied quickly, "Of course not. We were just chatting in the room. Come on in."
Saying so, Su Qing pulled the door wide open, revealing Zhou Yuwen just getting off the bed.
Cough, right, just chatting.
Zhou Yuwen asked Lu Wanting what was the matter.
Lu Wanting explained, "Well, actually, your cousin said he would come find me later so we could go for a stroll together. I was thinking, why do we not all go sing karaoke instead? It will be my treat."
Lu Wanting was still quite polite. She knew it was not proper to just freeload at Zhou Yuwen's house endlessly.
"That sounds great! Zhou Yuwen, let us go singing later, okay?" Su Qing chimed in happily, blinking playfully at Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen scoffed, "You are completely tone-deaf. What business do you have singing?"
"So mean! You can sing! Cousin-in-law, let me tell you, Zhou Yuwen is an amazing singer! He even knows how to write his own songs!" Although Su Qing could not sing to save her life, she still loved going to karaoke because Zhou Yuwen had a fantastic voice.
She remembered back when they were married in her past life. Whenever Su Qing's colleague had a gathering, they would always invite Zhou Yuwen along.
Come to think of it, people nowadays tended to marry late. Couples like Zhou Yuwen and Su Qing, who got married right after graduation, were actually quite rare.
Therefore, whenever Su Qing's entire design department had a get-together, Zhou Yuwen was usually the only male there.
Of course, occasionally other colleagues would bring a boyfriend along.
But when it came to singing, none of them were a match for Zhou Yuwen.
Because of this, Su Qing was always the focus of everyone's envy at these events.
They would exclaim things like, "Wow, your hubby is so handsome!"
"Exactly! Your boyfriend is not only good-looking but also sings so wonderfully!"
Such compliments, more or less, always managed to satisfy Su Qing's vanity.
Later on, for reasons unknown.
Perhaps work became too busy.
Perhaps the mundane pressures of daily necessities piled up too high.
Su Qing gradually forgot these little beautiful details of their life together, ultimately leading them down diverging paths.
"Zhou Yuwen, you know how to write songs?"
Lu Wanting was quite surprised by this, even pleasantly so. She was suddenly eager to hear what kind of songs Zhou Yuwen had written.
Zhou Yuwen denied it.
"She is just bragging. The songs I write are amateurish, nothing worth performing in public."
"Nonsense! Sister-in-law, I am telling you, Zhou Yuwen was incredibly popular at our university! I even have the videos to prove it!"
Su Qing argued, pouting her small lips.
Zhou Yuwen looked at her overly eager expression and drawled, "It seems you cannot keep your mouth shut, can you?"
'Hmph!'
The three of them continued chatting in the room while waiting for Peng Xiaoyong to arrive.
They had been chatting for barely five minutes when Lu Wanting received a phone call.
It was Peng Xiaoyong, saying he was waiting outside the front door and asking where Lu Wanting was.
"Are you not in your room?"
"Oh, I am in your cousin's room."
"You are in his room!?"
Hearing this, Peng Xiaoyong was visibly displeased and demanded, "What are you doing in his room?"
Lu Wanting replied, "I was bored being by myself as one person, so I came over to hang out with him."
"What is there for you two to hang out about?"
As Peng Xiaoyong said this, he had already started marching toward Zhou Yuwen's room. He could not help but think, 'How do you have zero sense of proper boundaries between men and women?'
It was not until Lu Wanting added that she was in the room with both his cousin and his cousin's girlfriend.
Only then did Peng Xiaoyong's footsteps slow down.
"Oh, so it is the three of you..."
Lu Wanting said of course.
"You did not actually think it was just me and your cousin, did you?"
"No."
By the time Peng Xiaoyong finished speaking, he had arrived at the doorway to Zhou Yuwen's room.
Seeing that there really were three people in the room, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
However, taking in their seating arrangement, Peng Xiaoyong was still somewhat unhappy.
Because Zhou Yuwen was lying on the bed, while Su Qing was sitting in his lap, chatting with Lu Wanting.
Peng Xiaoyong could not help but frown slightly, thinking that Zhou Yuwen's posture was far too unseemly.
"Are we leaving now?" Peng Xiaoyong asked Lu Wanting.
He had asked Lu Wanting out to go window shopping.
Lu Wanting replied, "Yes. Shall we head out now then?"
This question was directed at Su Qing, who turned her head to look back at Zhou Yuwen.
Zhou Yuwen said, "Let us wait a little longer. I am waiting for another friend."
So Lu Wanting turned back and told Peng Xiaoyong, "We will wait a bit longer then."
Peng Xiaoyong remained expressionless.
He was twenty-six this year. Realistically, he and Zhou Yuwen belonged to two different age groups. For instance, the clothes Zhou Yuwen and the girls wore were distinctly more youthful, whereas Peng Xiaoyong carried somewhat of a middle-aged aura.
Lu Wanting continued to joke and chat with Su Qing. At that moment, her phone pinged.
It was a text message from Peng Xiaoyong, which read: "Did we not agree that it would just be the two of us going out for a stroll?"
Lu Wanting texted back: "It is boring with so few people. Let's bring more along; it will be fun."
Peng Xiaoyong did not reply.
They waited until Liu Shuo arrived. After he greeted everyone, the group officially set off.
In truth, Zhou Yuwen was not very familiar with the local county's entertainment options. Luckily, Liu Shuo knew the scene inside and out.
Zhou Yuwen did not drive his BMW X7.
Instead, he had Liu Shuo drive his father's older model Toyota Camry to take them around.
Zhou Yuwen sat in the passenger seat.
In the back, Su Qing sat next to Lu Wanting, with Peng Xiaoyong taking the spot closest to the door on the other side.
In the front, Zhou Yuwen engaged in a simple conversation with Liu Shuo.
Liu Shuo had previously mentioned organizing a gathering for the members of the Xuhuai Association. After going home last night, he had specifically reached out to them.
There were two to three hundred students from the Xuhuai Association scattered throughout their county alone.
"Over a hundred of them have the time. Bro, why don't I rent out a restaurant and treat them all to a meal?" Liu Shuo asked.
Zhou Yuwen replied casually, "Whatever you want, keep it casual."
"Will you be coming too, bro?" Liu Shuo asked.
Zhou Yuwen dismissed the idea, "Just you eating with them is enough. What business do I have joining in on the commotion?"
"Are you guys attending a class reunion?" Lu Wanting, sitting in the back, overheard Liu Shuo talking about a gathering and assumed it was a school get-together.
Hearing this, Liu Shuo could not help but laugh. He thought to himself, 'What class reunion! This is our...'
Before he could finish, Zhou Yuwen answered Lu Wanting, "Yeah, pretty much."
"I really envy you!" Lu Wanting exclaimed. "I have completely lost touch with every single high school classmate of mine. It is so nice that you guys can still get together when you return home from university. Hey, do you still keep in contact with your high school classmates?" she asked, turning to look at Peng Xiaoyong beside her.
Peng Xiaoyong replied flatly, "There is no need to keep in touch. I have absolutely no interest in schoolyard sentiments or whatever."
Peng Xiaoyong added that little kids always view certain emotional bonds as incredibly important. In reality, once they grow up, they will realize that these so-called profound connections are nothing more than a fantasy.
