Chapter 880 Five Gems
Chapter 880 Five Gems
"You're right about everything, but how do you explain knowing those guys?" Yun's lips curled into a mocking smile, seemingly unconcerned by the other's skepticism. He thought to himself that he himself was a huge enigma, an existence no one could truly understand. Even if he revealed the truth, probably no one would be able to grasp its deeper meaning.
Yun was well aware of his uniqueness; he was like a forgotten corner of the world, bearing those untold secrets alone. Therefore, he appeared unusually calm, even somewhat fearless, when faced with the doubts of others.
“It’s really strange. You and that guy Flor both exude a mysterious aura at all times,” Lishwim said thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on Yun, as if trying to see through Yun’s seemingly calm exterior to the true thoughts in Yun’s heart.
Upon hearing this, Yun's smile widened. He teased, "You've been sealed away for so many years, yet you seem to know quite a bit about the outside world." He understood the deeper meaning behind Lishwim's words; the other was implying that he shouldn't be arrogant or think he was so special. After all, Flor, like him, was an extremely unique being in this world.
However, Lishwim was unaware of the special understanding and connection between Cloud and Flor. They knew each other's secrets and were people in this world they could entrust their backs to. Lishwim, of course, had no way of knowing this, naively believing that this information would make Cloud wary.
“Of course, I have my own channels!” Lishwim said smugly, as if his channels were unique and unmatched by anyone else.
However, Yun didn't take his words seriously, a helpless smile appearing on her lips. "Channels? The ones you know are probably very limited. Look at you now, aren't you still like a mouse, hiding in this hole, too afraid to come out?"
Yun knew very well that there was a huge problem here, but he was trapped and couldn't escape. The battle with the giant pineapple monster had already exhausted him, and it seemed he would soon face the even more powerful Baal. Yun couldn't help but doubt his ability to handle the upcoming battle; after all, he knew nothing about Baal's strength.
Now, Yun felt the best solution was to find a way to lure Lishwim out of the cave. So, he casually asked, "Oh? What surprise have you prepared for me this time?"
Lishwim seemed to see through Yun's thoughts and replied with a smile, "So eager for me to come out? If you can survive the upcoming battle, you'll naturally see me."
Although Yun spoke lightly, he was inwardly utterly helpless. He knew that while Lishwim claimed to be among the strongest in the entire universe, as long as Fate was around, he would never be able to handle it easily. Because Fate always seemed to find him equally matched opponents, plunging him into one difficult battle after another.
"Come on, I'll see just how many tricks you have up your sleeve!" Yun sneered, secretly pondering to himself. At this moment, he seemed to have no other choice. Lishwim had hidden himself away, and he had no way to get him out, so he could only passively wait for Lishwim to make his move.
However, Yun was not discouraged. He firmly believed that as long as he could successfully resist and break through every move of Lishwim and complete the difficult task given to him by fate, he would eventually be able to escape and regain his freedom.
“You are indeed the most formidable opponent I have ever encountered,” Lishwim’s voice suddenly rang out, tinged with a hint of admiration. “I am quite looking forward to seeing you successfully overcome the final challenge.”
Upon hearing this, Yun merely sneered and replied, "Heh, say whatever you want, bring it on!" His tone revealed a resolute determination to face death.
At this moment, Yun tightly gripped the Soul Drainer, a weapon he hadn't used in a long time. This weapon was a gift from the system, and he didn't even know if it was still usable. However, Frostmourne was no longer effective against Diablo, and Gao Shalak dared not use it lightly, so this one should be quite good. Hopefully, its sealing properties would have a surprising effect in battle.
Yun was not kept waiting long; it seemed like only a moment had passed before the black smoke reappeared before Yun's eyes like a ghost.
This sudden turn of events caused Yun, who was already somewhat nervous, to have her heart race even faster. Logically, Baal should have appeared after the smoke cleared, but at this moment, Yun was filled with uncertainty.
After all, this mysterious place is full of unknowns, and anything can happen. Perhaps Baal will appear, or perhaps it will be something else completely unexpected.
Yun was already numb to this situation. Since being drawn into this bizarre vortex of fate, he had experienced far too many incomprehensible things. And now, this damned fate seemed to have discovered that there weren't many things here that posed a significant threat to him, and had started using a different game, which left Yun speechless.
Just as Yun was lost in thought, a huge figure suddenly appeared out of thin air in front of him without any warning.
The figure was so enormous that it completely filled Yun's vision. He stared wide-eyed at this behemoth that had appeared out of nowhere, his heart filled with doubt and shock.
However, Yun didn't have enough time to ponder how this enormous creature had suddenly appeared. In that breathtaking moment, without the slightest hesitation, he decisively seized the fleeting opportunity and fearlessly charged straight at the hideous monster.
At the same time, the two Soul Drainers that Yun held tightly in his hands, like two bolts of lightning ripped through the night sky, ruthlessly piercing the monster's back with lightning speed.
While Baal in the game looks terrifying, that's only from an overhead perspective, so its level of horror is somewhat manageable. However, when this monster actually stands before the clouds, the shock and fear are indescribable. Its body is enormous, like a moving mountain, and its hideous face is truly chilling.
Not only that, the monster's body was covered with horrifying scars, crisscrossing each other as if telling the story of countless brutal battles it had endured. Its dark, wrinkled skin emitted a nauseating stench and oozed black slime, making it all incredibly disgusting.
As Yun leaped onto the monster's back, a sticky, foul feeling instantly overwhelmed him, making him extremely uncomfortable. What shocked him even more was how easily the Soul Eater pierced the monster's seemingly indestructible hide; this was completely unexpected.
However, the instant the Soul Eater pierced the monster's body, a jet of black blood gushed out like a fountain, splashing directly onto Yun. The black blood not only emitted a strong, foul stench but also carried a burning sensation, as if it would scorch Yun's skin. Yun felt a sharp pain, and his body involuntarily trembled.
"You ant, how dare you!" An unusually rough roar shook the clouds.
"Enough with the nonsense." Yun shook off the blood on his body, but the blood was unusually viscous, so Yun had no choice but to let the Soul Drainer stab in again. Before long, it had stabbed Baal more than a dozen times in the back of his head.
"Boom!" Yun was still attacking when, unexpectedly, a large amount of black blood suddenly gushed out from the wound, like a powerful fountain, which directly blasted Yun away.
